The River is pretty great.
I'll have to download that at some point when I'm next at my mum's house.

Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left - I haven't heard this in ages and it's so good. I'm seriously considering buying Fruit Tree.

perriwinkle 01-02-2008 06:42 PM

science faction - grime - well mixed compilation of UK grime / electronic stuff. sweeet
jesus lizard - goat
pinback - arrive having eaten ep

Eliminator 01-02-2008 06:46 PM

science faction comps aren't very good

perriwinkle 01-02-2008 06:51 PM

i like a bunch of the songs on the grime one, they sound great. they all have a very similar aesthetic but really creative / good production so its okay. i definitely wouldnt be able to listen to the whole disc if it werent a mix-cd. i think i might dl the dubstep one. which have you heard?

Slaapkamers 01-02-2008 07:28 PM

half of the dubstep one is ****ing terrible

and the other half is pretty decent

perriwinkle 01-02-2008 07:37 PM

i am sort of curious as to what it will sound like. i dont know a whole lot about dubstep but i read its bass-heavy and stuff.. and one of my friends said boxcutter sounded like dubstep when i plaeyd it for him so it sounds like it might be pretty cool i duno

Slaapkamers 01-02-2008 07:40 PM

skream - skream
burial - untrue
various production - the world is gone
kode9 and the spaceape - memories of the future
disrupt - foundation bit
pinch - underwater dancehall (only heard a song or two from it)

those are probably good starting albums. a lot of dubstep is more single/mix/compilation based more so than albums unfortunately

that science faction one has some good stuff like benga, pinch, and scuba (cant remember if he sucks or not)

Kyle 01-02-2008 07:53 PM

That Pinch album rules.

Sabrepulse - Chipbreak Wars

God I love chiptune.

perriwinkle 01-02-2008 07:54 PM

sweeeeeet.. i will check out all the ones i can find, if you could put any/all up on mediafire or something i would be quite appreciative and grateful and stuff yea?
I downloaded this last night and have yet to listen to it. How is it?
It's a good, solid Springsteen album. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near his best, but it's pretty fun, catchy stuff.

And by the way, you need to get Darkness on the Edge of Town.

Montana 01-02-2008 10:17 PM

DJ Scotch Egg 4 lyfe.

Neoteric 01-03-2008 02:01 PM

that stuff is the type of music that scene kids say they like when they don't want to admit to liking rave music

and from my experience that scene kid is usually a girl, fat, and says she's "obsessed" with Japanese culture when it's just a lame attempt at being "different".

seriously man, seriously...

Slaapkamers 01-03-2008 02:03 PM

nah dude if someone watches Naruto, they obviously know everything about japanese culture

Neoteric 01-03-2008 02:07 PM

well that's what it seems like.

and you go on their myspace and it's like, "my favorite bands are [BUNCH OF JAPANESE SYMBOLS], [BUNCH OF JAPANESE SYMBOLS] and [BUNCH OF JAPANESE SYMBOLS]"

Slaapkamers 01-03-2008 02:07 PM

久石 譲 is awesome though

Satori rules hard. I love that one song with that massive yell.

Yeah it is. The vocals are quite awesome as well.

I downloaded Dandelion Gum by BMSR recently, gonna give that a listen soon. I can imagine that being really trippy as well. Is it their best?

ATM 01-03-2008 02:16 PM

That's an exellent album, and my favorite of their releases.

AndreTheHyena 01-03-2008 02:17 PM

Melvins, Slayer, Eyehategod, Until the End, and now Ghostlimb. It's been an aggro week.
dude there is like 10 people like that in my school, my exact description.
haha

once, near the beginning of the year when nobody knew anyone else in the class, our lecturer was sick so we all had to mark our names on a piece of paper just to "register". I saw that she'd marked her name as "Washer"...so I naturally thought, "well this girl is pretty fat and whatnot, but maybe she likes SLINT". So I said to her, "interesting name blah blah"...and it turns out it's the name of some japanese anime character or something. I was disappointed, to say the least. Scene kid personified.

Slaapkamers 01-03-2008 02:20 PM

should've told her i misssyouuu!!!!
