They're not touring right now (at least I think), but "The Dead" (minus Jerry, plus Barraco, Chimenti, Haynes and Herring) are still a band and will be touring.

Money is not needed; the kindness of strangers is. My hippie cousin (across the street) toured with Phish for about three years. There is no way he could have afforded it. However, it is was never uncommon for him to be given a ticket by another man touring with the band.

If someone needs a ticket at a Dead show, the slang you use is "I need a miracle". And a ticket may be offered. Finally, if you don't get a ticket, you hang out in the parking lot with the others, and do drugs. :p
