Bruce Springsteen - Magic
I downloaded this last night and have yet to listen to it. How is it?

The Go! Team - Proof Of Youth - I downloaded this on recommendation by a friend. I'm halfway through, it's ok I guess.

hell yeah, I love listening to Sabbath when I'm driving. And Bill Ward is one of my favourite drummers, the drum sound on early Sabbath albums is amazing. Just a brilliant band overall, although I haven't heard any Dio era albums yet. I know Greg Ginn from Black Flag was quite a big fan of Sabbath with Dio, so I'll probably get some eventualy.

I'm more of an Ozzy area fan, they are a totally different band with Dio. Bill Ward is such a cool drummer, I agree. I think the first song that really made me notice him was Wicked World. Geezer is a ridiculous bassist, as well. It goes without saying that Iommi is one of the best guitarists as well. It's hard not to rip him off when I play, because I admire that style so much.

Eliminator 01-02-2008 11:41 AM

sabbath \m/

Interstate 01-02-2008 11:42 AM

I'm going to try and find some of my Sabbath cds to play on the 3+ hour drive back to my girlfriend's house. Such good driving music.

AndreTheHyena 01-02-2008 11:45 AM

Bill Ward is probably my favorite drummer. There's a really great Youtube video of them doing "War Pigs" in, I believe, Paris in the early 70's, and it really showcases just how amazing they all were.

Interstate 01-02-2008 11:46 AM

I'll have to watch that at some point.

ATM 01-02-2008 11:52 AM

Yeah, I've seen that. Really cool video. They changed the lyrics up for War Pigs quite a lot in that performance, if I remember correctly.

Eliminator 01-02-2008 11:55 AM

bill ward is a beast

Interstate 01-02-2008 11:55 AM

The Go! Team's album was really really horrible. The vocals annoyed me so much.

That's insanely good. I tried to cover that song once with a couple of mates and the drums are mental.

Bill Ward is a god.

We cover it every once in a while, if we're exceptionally drunk. We don't usually get very far, but it's such a fun song to play.

Bukowski 01-02-2008 12:55 PM

I know about half of War Pigs on drums, and me and my old bands guitarist used to spontaneously start playing it in between tracks or when the bassist/singer went out for a smoke. It's a classic, and thanks for that video Andre.

Right now I'm listening to Paranoid and Planet Caravan which is just the greatest song ever to smoke pot to. Again, Bill Ward is pivotal.

YDload 01-02-2008 03:04 PM

Supernaut is the best Sabbath riff
