Whatever you guys wanna send out. Anything Classic Rock sounds good to me.

DeusExMachina 09-12-2005 09:09 PM

Hows about some Grateful Dead? I don't have much by them.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-12-2005 09:09 PM

OK, I have decided to hang my pipe on the wall and give up smoking. Yes, sad day indeed. :upset:

I'm still doing shrooms and acid though. :).......:(

I still need that mp4 converter. :-/

magicbus 09-12-2005 09:09 PM

Workingman's Dead seems to be liked by everyone. I'll do that one.

EDIT:  It's .m4a.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-12-2005 09:12 PM

American Beauty is much more enjoyable IMO.

It goes without saying that you can count me out on that one :D

I don't really like that one though, so I don't have it :(

Ray: :p

Also, I listened to Bitches Brew the whole way through today. This album is amazing. I mean WOW!

Illmatic 09-12-2005 09:15 PM
to Bitches Brew the whole way through today. This album is amazing. I mean WOW!
I was hoping it would have that kind of reaction.

Yea. Bitches Brew is just incredible. I'll try converting ATMP tomorrow night if I have time. Right now I got a ****load of physics, so I have to go do some work.

So what's this I hear about you liking drinking more then smoking?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-12-2005 09:18 PM

Yea, it's really good. If you like that In A Silent Way is another really good electric album. I want to hear Live/Evil but I have yet to find anyone that has it.

Glitterati 09-12-2005 09:18 PM
Someone want to send All Things Must Pass? It got uploaded a little while back, but it didn't work for me.

I learned today that my AP world history teacher was a huge Beatles freak when she was young. Vice president of the first Beatles Fan Club in Chicago, and saw the Doors live several times. Man, she's even cooler than she already was (which was very cool).
My carpentry teacher said he really liked my Dylan shirt today

I like Kind of Blue a lot too, but I haven't to listened to In A Silent Way as much as the others. I'll do that one next.

Illmatic 09-12-2005 09:26 PM
So what's this I hear about you liking drinking more then smoking?
What can I say? I got tired of smoking pot.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-12-2005 09:29 PM

I was reading more of this Miles biography and I came upon something horrible. The Jazz community apparently really looks down on him for his fusion times for example just look what Charles Mingus said about him: ('71)

Mingus: Who?

Interveiwer: Miles Davis

Mingus: Never heard of him. I knew I guy by that name who used to play with Bird, but I thought he was dead.

Interveiwer: You don't like his playing?

Mingus: I don't think he's around anymore, unless you mean this guy who had a trumpet that I saw with pictures of naked white girls. I gave a trumpet to my 4 year old nephew, and he made better sounds than this guy.

Actually, Charles Mingus was a dick to just about everyone else in the jazz community, so it doesn't surprise me that he said

Yea, to be honest, I am getting to that point as well. My girlfriend wants to smoke EVERY time I come ever, and it gets a bit old.
Yea, to be honest, I am getting to that point as well. My girlfriend wants to smoke EVERY time I come ever, and it gets a bit old.
Wow, that's a bit excessive :-\

magicbus 09-12-2005 09:36 PM

I guess Bitches Brew was very controversial, and many jazz musicians looked down on Miles for making it. You guys should read the Wikipedia site for the album, it's very informative.

Very true.

NP: The Who - Underture

Speaking of the Who, I let my mom hear a jam session that I recorded with a friend and she said it reminded her of Tommy :)

She scored some cool points for that one.

Seafroggys 09-12-2005 10:08 PM

Is it a good thing to score points with your mother? I mean, I know some people have fantasies, but........

Tommy is on the top of my birthday list (November 26)

Flaminghotchino 09-12-2005 10:16 PM

All this talk about pot is making my cleansing a lot harder.

I'll be trying shrooms for the first time soon, any pointers?

wait...this is the classic rock thread..umm uh.... Pink floyd rules...anyone....hear...of them?..

How much would shrooms for about 4 people cost you think?

DeusExMachina 09-12-2005 10:39 PM

/doesn't do drugs, or drink.

I'm straightedge!!!!!*

*lame

Speaking of scoring with moms, I'm reading Oedipus Rex in english class. There's one part, where the mom/wife is like "all men dream of sleeping with their mothers! It's not weird at all!" I was amused.

killswitch21 09-13-2005 03:09 AM

anyone who likes classic rock should listen to "emerald" by thin lizzy on the live and dangerous album. sharp dressed man by zz top is ****ing awesome aswell.
I'll be trying shrooms for the first time soon, any pointers?
Don't go out in the heat, think positive, if you're going to throw up might aswell just get it over with, tea is better to make (IMO), don't trip with people who arn't on shrooms because usally they'll just mess with you which gets extremly annoying and avoid going into public places. Happy tripping man. Hope it's a good one. :)

Thanks for the info. I'll tell you guys how it goes..I was supposed to do it last week but it keeps getting post-poned..

Anyways.. So who here likes david bowie? It took me a while to get into him but I really like his Ziggy Stardust album. I'm thinking maybe I should check out some of his other work but I hear he is really diverse so I don't want to end up picking up something thats not my style.

Anything else similar to stardust, or is an essential rock album?

Bus 09-13-2005 10:06 AM

I think David Bowie is amazing, and Ziggy Stardust is a near perfect album. I haven't found a full album yet that I like as much as Stardust, though. I have like 6 on my computer but they don't seem to be as consistently good as that one, unless someone can recommend where I can try next?

Sometimes it gets more posts in 30 min. than it does all day, but usually this is just because of a paticularly annoying n00b

I really like Hunky Dory. It's got one of my favourite Bowie songs on it (Changes) and if you're not familiar with the rest of the album, it'll probably surprise you.

jpj 09-13-2005 01:17 PM

Ziggy Stardust is an awesome album, perfect IMO. I'd like to hear Diamond Dogs, anyone have it?

DeusExMachina 09-13-2005 02:40 PM

I like David Bowie, but his voice gets on my nerves a lot. But, the songs he wrote for the Labyrinth soundtrack are great. I love that movie.

Broken Arrow 09-13-2005 02:48 PM

I dont know much about David Bowie.

That Dylan autoboigraphy is so amazing.
That Dylan autoboigraphy is so amazing.
Chronicles? Yea, it's great. I just began reading a Dylan biography it should be good.

I have just realized Pet Sounds is really good! I've only heard it a few times and I didn't dig it at all I hadn't listined to it in like 3 months so today I thought it was time to give it another chance. I was pleasantly suprised to say the least. :)

What'd you get banned for magicbus?

Edit: Oh, I see.

I'm still proud to say I've never been banned it's probablly because I never go in the pit though. :p
