The ownly good songs to emerge from Load & Reload are as follows:
Fuel Memory Remains Hero Of The Day Outlaw Torn Wasting My Hate |
Hehe, Rapidshare's my arch enemy. I'm determined to get this though.
Lol. Slow download rate or do they just never finish?
It's like I have to wait until I can download then when I click download, no download loads. yet I'm told I'm already downloading something. |
I don't see whats so bad about 'Load', I like it.
|
I don't see whats so bad about 'Load', I like it.
It grew on me I have to say. |
I'm not a big fan of load and reload as you all know. I think they should have
made them one album. That's the only reason I can think of that might give someone a reason to think Metallica sold out |
I'd take Load over Reload any day.
Me too. Reload sucks after the first 4 songs.
|
I like a handful of each, but Reload > Load
I can't help it if Newsted and Hammett are the loves of my life!
That's fine, but Rob's a better bassist. I'd like that upload too! joe.mxmail@gmail.com |
Cliffs bass solos are awesome in Cliff em' All
|
I don't think Rob is better, he's just different. And Jason did better back up vocals.
|
Hey could I get that upload too?
I don't think Rob is better, he's just different. And Jason did better back up vocals.
Rob is a freaking bass Monster, Suicidal Tendencies is a great band, i think he's better than Jason and maybe better than Cliff(:smash: ). |
Rob is better than Cliff at actual bass by lightyears. I've said it many times, Cliff wasn't an extraordinary bassist. He was a good songwriter, but he wasn't "God" on bass by any means. If that titles goes to anybody in metal, it's Steve DiGiorgio, or maybe Sean Malone or maybe Steve Harris.
|
Cliff was only 24 when he died, so he really hadn't been playing bass for that long, imagine how he would be if he had of survived.
|
For all we know, Cliff could have left Metallica after the Puppets tour anyway. We'll never know what Cliff could have been, but we know what he was. He wasn't a "God" at actual bassplaying, not by any means. His songwriting is a different story, however.
|
iluvkirkhammet are you gay. Seriously... First the sex bar thing then on that last page the love of ur life thing...
And cliff was probably the best bassist Metallica's had because of his addition and excellent contributions to the songs not because he kicked at bass(which he did). i.e. For Whom The Bell Tolls. |
If that titles goes to anybody in metal, it's Steve DiGiorgio, or maybe Sean Malone or maybe Steve Harris.
There's no way Di Giorgio or Harris could take that tittle, Malone is like one million time better than they.
Cliff was only 24 when he died, so he really hadn't been playing bass for that long, imagine how he would be if he had of survived.
Dying young doesn't mean that he was greater, he original and talented, maybe an innovating bass player, but nothing more.
iluvkirkhammet are you gay. Seriously... First the sex bar thing then on that last page the love of ur life thing...
She's a girl, i think. |
For Whom the Bell Tolls sounds more complicated that it really is. It's a very simple intro, and after awhile it gets boring. People love to make Cliff out to be some kind of God on bass, but take it from somebody who actually plays bass...he wasn't. He was a decent bassist, nothing more. He was a good song writer.
iluvkirkhammet is a girl, yes. To HMK: Malone didn't really show all of his skills in Cynic imo, I know he's much more talented than he showed in Cynic obviously, but DiGiorgio's stuff is amazing. Fretless players (which Malone is as well) are amazing (as show by Jaco). |
Well talking metal i think Myung and Claypool are kind of the best, Di Giorgio is amazing, his work on Death and Sadus is awesome.
|
I am indeed a girl, thank you.
Cliff was just amazing live, with his great mop of red hair, and bell bottoms, and bass solos, he was such an amazing player, he played a bass like a guitar, and there will never be anyone else like him. |

Bass never needed to be played like an electric guitar. That wasn't the point of bass. Bass is to hold down the groove and low end. You don't need flashy "zomgz" bassists in thrash bands, anyway, although DiGiorgio and Malone (yes, Malone played in a prog/tech death band, and DiGiorgio has played in thrash/melodeath/death bands) and quite a few other bassists supercede that notion.
I was able to play Anesthesia 2 months or so into bass playing, btw. |
Have you heard the solo from the night that he died, it was so amazing, the best of his that I've ever heard, quite ironic really.
|
Uhh, yea, I'll definetely take Cliff over Rob for now. We'll see what Rob comes up on the next album. I don't even like Cliff's anesthesia, or orion, but songs like call of ktulu, for whom the bell tolls, or even to live is to die, which has parts written by cliff?, are legendary songs. So yea, we'll see what Rob composes on the next album.

ZOMGZ CLIFF WAS BASS GOD LOLZ
Distortion and wah with scale arpeggios doesn't make him God. I realize that you're not implying that he was, but that's besides the point: Cliff wasn't as "Godly" , as a bass player, as people make him out to be. End. |
DiGiorgio and Harris own Cliff.
|
I'm not saying or even trying to imply that Cliff was godly, what I'm saying that he was a great artist, in his playing, in his writing, he did great things for Metallica, and by all accounts he was very smart and very eloquent.
And by the way, when Jason, Kirk and James play Orion on Live **** Binge and Purge, oh my god.... |

Playing a bass like a guitar, shows how much you can expand your bass sound and technique, besides, Cliff did a little more than that. |
