I like how every emo band is named after half a sentance that makes no sense.
like... The Acedemy is Our Own somewhere Unless Im dead Except for sam What is up with the hair? Any person who looks like that, and can only play a few ****ing chords on the guitar doesnt deserve a record deal (Hence why all indie labels are ****ty, everyone has a label now and are recruiting bands that suck) |
I think we should bring back dutch boy cuts.
I've always liked those. |
I think its time to put on ghost revieres
To much ****ty music speak is making me a bit ill
Haha Right on, Opeth rules.
Heres an idea... Either grow your hair long or get a hair cut. Don't look like more of an asshole then you have too. All the hairgel and dye in the world aint gonna make up for a lack of skills.
Exactly, but for most kids nowadays (I use that lightly, as some 20 year olds act like kids) the mascara, matters more than the music. |
But...but Papa Jimmy, I like The Beatles' moptop hair cut
WAAAAHHH! |

yeah, listening to some old Blues records is far more 'emo' then anything coming up now adays. These teenage kids don't know how good they have it. Try being a black in the South during the 40s and 50s.

^ Agreed Jim. I wish emo would just cut itself and die.

They're workin' on it!:thumb: |
Emo is like john keates with no comprehension of meter
|
Emo is a stupid word. And todays music is getting worse.

Oh please, there's plenty of great music around today. Don't make unbacked generalizations. |
Well as musicans and players most of us are going to dig to find the goodstuff. Of course the music that is accepted as "great" by casual listeners is pretty horrible though you must admit
Most of it, yes. I'm just saying you can't write off an entire decade or so because the mainstream isn't as good as it was in the past. |
I love the bands who name themselves after Elton John.
Ho' shit, hXc right there. Funeral for a friend are a right crock of shit as well. |
^what band did that?
|
One thing that infuriates me is whenver i hear that line from that song. "shutting the goddam door". Don't know the song, can't remember any of the other parts, but everything in that second or two is so terrible.
//is listening to Miles Davis. Heh, 2 disc 'best of' album, 9.95 Aust. Reduced from 36:D |
^what band did that?
Funeral for a friend |
Mainstream has always been **** IMO. (Sans a little)
I love the music out today! I would not want to live in any other time. Honestly, there is so much good music out there (More than the crap on MTV) But the stuff just takes awhile to find. |
Underground will always be better.
|
Anyone see the pictures of Terry Bozzios exploded bicep?
http://www.zappa.com/zpz/tourlog/index.php Scroll down to the second picture. |
Ouch
|
yum...
looks like my mums leg when she tore the cruciate ligament and dislocated it... |
I think you should all get off my "emo sucks" bandwagon anyway.
Its getting very old and rickety. Theres only enough room for me on it. /wavespitchfork |
I dont take much space phil....:)
|
I hate when you call/text a girl and you can tell theyre pissed off at you for some reason or another, but when you ask them whats wrong they wont tell you, or theyll say "oh its nothing", even though its obvious that something is up
infact it doesnt even have to be a girl, thats just whats happening right now |
I dont take much space phil....:)
And i'm even smaller than zildjian!! |
Do you live anywhere near Somerset (sp?) Phil?
i live in east devon which is about 20 mins away from the somerset border. Somerset's a dump. Seriously, don't go there, unless you want to be knifed, or forced into meat packing. |

I'll avoid Somerset I guess. Where is it anyways? |
Ming - I'm seeing Stanton for a masterclass in August.
Futuro - I have a rasterbated Istanbul Agop logo on my bedroom wall. Brokensticks - I believe it's near Bath and Bristol. South west. |
Well last night i went to an amazing show.
Desa, Men Women and Children, I am Avalanche, and RX Bandits. Well Desa was an amazing opening act and I've been loving them ever since that show. They're basically a rock band with lots of energy who's broke. Then Men Women and Children was just weird. I liked they're music. It was like rock/funk/boogie. It seemed like the whole show was a joke. Then I am the avalanche. A boring generic emo/rock band. Blargh I sat by the fan for them. THen RXB's, My GOD I skanked for like an hour yelling out lyrics. I felt like i was running a marathon. Well it ruled. I suggest you guys check out Desa http://www.purevolume.com/desa Listen to X Million and Ardent Anthem I didnt like them at first but after the show they played I love them. |
And i'm even smaller than zildjian!!
Dont often hear a guy admitting that. What went on with the forums yesterday? I couldnt get on at all |
I've been going nuts for the last two days, just itching to post here.
But now that it's back, I have nothing to say. |
What is with the site?!?!?!
It's been bothering me SO much! |
I thought my internet was just screwed. Seems like everyone had problems. Good to know.
|
So I'm back from the Warped Tour.
I still don't understand the appeal of getting bashed up and sweat on and hurt and sunburnt [waterproof and sunproof over 60 SPF my ass], but none-the-less, it was fun. It's damnably emo now though. Before the Warped Tour had motorcycles flying over your head, BMX bikes and skateboards going all OVER the freaking place, huge ramps and a hell of a lot of free stuff...now it's one tiny little half-pipe that's about as tall as I am [so, well under 6 feet], a bunch of emo-tastic bands, not so much free stuff, and the Army and the Marines didn't even bother to show up. What gives =/ Ah well, it was still fun. Got my crowd surfing in, got dropped [lightly, and picked back up again, and not stepped on], got my cartilage piercing stuck on something so it started to bleed, and all of this happened during Less Than Jake's "Overrated," so that was cool. Small, unknown, unsigned bands tend to be really very cool people. Can't wait to go again in LA on Wednesday. |
I went to the Warped Tour a couple years ago. It would've been ok, had it not been about 100 degrees, overcrowded, and filled with mostly bad music.
|
I've only been to 1 outdoor, all day music-fest that was under 100 degrees, and that's becaues it was raining and absolutely ****-tastic.
I hate being sunburnt and hot and sweaty, but God knows I love me a good over 100 degree concert. It makes no sense, but ah well. |
It was probably at least 95 degrees each of the four days of Wakarusa, and it was amazing. Hot and sweaty, but spread out and filled with amazing music and really cool people. Far better than the Warped Tour.
I'm going to bed. Night, MX. |
Eh. The Bouncing Souls were good, Less Than Jake were good, and a whole bunch of unknown bands were cool..like Dork, and Coldfusion, and this one that I can't remember but their logo is spray painted on my pants [how could I pass up a pirate?]..their music is way good, I can't wait to see them in LA.
Free stuff is always freaking cool. And so is making fun of the losers who are just trying to fit in so they bought their entire outfits the day before at Hottopic. I even asked the guy who worked there, he confirmed it. That's a fun game. |
