I think JonG (or someone) said they got a free greatest hits by them and you said he payed too much. That's not disrespectful?
Maybe it was, but it was also tongue-in-cheek.

angusmaster 09-12-2005 04:30 PM

JonG 09-12-2005 04:33 PM
No. 14 in C sharp Minor: Adagio sostenuto (BEAUTIFUL!!!!)

I don't have many shirts at all and I can almost guantee that I know about music (in general) than anyone of my peers. All 2,800 of them. Could be wrong though.
Ahh, the Moonlight Sonata. Excellent choice.

I think it's hard to judge who knows most about music "in general," because there are so many aspects (theory, different styles, different instruments, different artists, etc.) that it's hard to judge who knows the most overall. But, I know more than most people at my school in terms of most areas of music.

I get what you mean. I'm sure I know much more then most kids about psychedelic styles of music, and a lot of indian styles of music, but pretty much any kid can show me up on hardcore or screamo..all sounds the same to me  **** do I sound old.

angusmaster 09-12-2005 04:51 PM

Sadly :upset: ,most people at my school like rap,but the ones that do like classic rock do know a lot about it.

angusmaster 09-12-2005 04:54 PM

Please don't be another kid who mindlessly hates on rap. Listen to The Tipping Point, and then bring an opinion on rap.

Yeah some rap is okay, but you gotta admit it has very poor representation.
I have never heard a rap on TV or Radio that I even remotely enjoyed.
Besides jurassic 5 or beastie boys if you wanna call them that..

Check out some Trip-Hop like digable planets

angusmaster 09-12-2005 04:57 PM

Perhaps. I don't pretend to be knowledgable about rap, but I do enjoy a lot of it. And, The Tipping Point is the only album of theirs I own, so I have no basis of comparison with their others. Regardless of the others though, It's a very good album.

I haven't really had a chance to "out-do" someone in musical knowledge, but I have a Pop Music class later this year. That could be a good chance.

Glitterati 09-12-2005 05:06 PM

I'm wearing my Dylan shirt right now

I might see Robert Plant with my friend. He had a spare ticket that he could sell to me for $100. I got $100 for seeling my foozeball table the other day, so I might just do it.

np: The Cars, once again. These guys rule.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-12-2005 05:07 PM

I got music history next year should be fun.

Woodstock 09-12-2005 05:11 PM

Yea, so I forgot how good this Ziggy Stardust album is. Though some of it is a little boring, the good songs are really good.

angusmaster 09-12-2005 05:22 PM

Well,to be honest,i go to a really poor 1 star highschool, while the other end of the county is 2 star, but they are all ***holes.

Glitterati 09-12-2005 05:41 PM

Guitar class is usually pretty fun, but it can be boring sometimes. At least I'm not in band.

Broken Arrow 09-12-2005 05:41 PM

I'm in guitar class, it's practically the easiest class ever.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-12-2005 05:53 PM

I wish I had a guitar class. Tell you the truth I'd want to be in any music program. Like play in band. Sure you have to stay after school for a few hours and you have to be in the school band but you still get to learn an instrument.

/band geek

DeusExMachina 09-12-2005 06:04 PM

Psh. Forget band. It's all about orchestra. Orchestra > band.

/Orchestra geek

My school is playing West Side Story this year, and I'm going to be in the pit orchestra. I'm not sure yet what part I'm going to do though. If I beat out the jazz guitarist in auditions (not likely), I'll play the guitar part. More likely, I'll play cello, because I'm pretty much guaranteed a spot in the pit as a cellist.

Our band played West Side Story last year.

DeusExMachina 09-12-2005 06:09 PM

Ouch. I got owned. I'd claim that my school will do it better than your school did, but a lot of the best singers graduated last year so it's probably not true.

Leonard Bernstein didn't like violas. It's kind of sad.

Anyone heard of/listen to a guy by the name of Joe Jackson? He was an English new wave-style singer/songwriter from the late '70s, quite similiar to Elvis Costello.

Obviously the Classic sound and style is better and the quality of rock is much worse now than it was in the 60s and 70s but you can't just say that all new music should stop. Some is good.

Walrus Gumboot 09-12-2005 06:37 PM

Woodstock, are you joining the CR YSI e-mailing list? eh?

We have an acoustic jam session calss on mandays. I just signed up for it, it's gonna be freaking awesome, we have so many talented jam band masters at my school. I'm just glad I can play harmonica/ukulele/tormbone because there are a million kids that can play bass/guitar/percussion in the class. I think betwen everyone we have drummers, mandolinists, banjoes, guitars, harmonicas, saxaphones, trumpets, trombones, and basses. I am hoping to get a bluegrass thing going with the banjo/mandolin, my bass, and one of the random, very common guitarists. I don't think either of them are any good, and it would be hard to establish good communication as the mandolinist is a skiddish freshman girl, the banjo a junior boy, and I, a senior girl and whatever random guitarist would probably just make it even more ridiculous
I can't wait though, maybe it will make up for this year's pathetic Acoustic Guitar Club, I think I'm switching to Tap Dancing :upset:
