Whoever was the guy who said that people sport Confederate Flags solely for the love of the South, they were wrong. Most people who try to act all down with the Confederacy also try to act all racist and cowboy and stuff, when they live in a suburb.

The confederate flag isn't racist, it was simply a flag to identify the southern troops in battle because the previous flag used was too close to the northern flag.

The civil war was NOT about slavery, it was to stay apart from the Union. Slavery was a byproduct of this.

You might as well call the U.S. flag racist then, until a certain point in time slavery was legal in the North as well.

The US flag was invented when fighting for freedom and represents that, the confederate was invented when fighting for slavery/other things and represents that. Kind of like how the swastica represents nazis/genocide when infact it really is a buddhist goodluck charm.
