Our school has an open art studio think where a friend and I are going to set up a silk-screening operation. I will make Led Zeppelin shirts that nobody has ever seen before :D

I was thinking of a Who one like Lunch's old "The Who" avatar

PS- I think this e-mail list thing is going to be sweet :)
That's awesome! I've always wanted to design my own band shirts.

Lunch 09-12-2005 01:36 PM

A shirt with the Whole Tommy jacket (as in the entire Blue sphere shape, not just the front cover) on a black background would look cool.

PinkFreud 09-12-2005 01:40 PM

fuuuuuuuuuuck. my ipods completely frozen. any suggestions?

Lunch 09-12-2005 01:41 PM

That's happened to my Creative Zen before, I just had to pop out the battery and put it back in. I don't know anything at all about iPods though.
fuuuuuuuuuuck. my ipods completely frozen. any suggestions?
Press both the menu and select buttons down for 6-10 seconds until the apple logo appears. If that doesn't do anything, you can run the apple updater or restart your computer. There's a few more troubleshooting suggestions on apple's website.

/much experience with ipod problems.

Leper 09-12-2005 01:46 PM

I didn't even know iPods could freeze.

Broken Arrow 09-12-2005 01:47 PM

That happened to my iPod, I had to wait til it was out of batteries. It hasnt happened since.

aww my email got left of the list.

JonG 09-12-2005 02:48 PM

I finally got some CDs I have been wanting for a while.

Grateful Dead - Aoxomoxoa
Grateful Dead s/t
George Harrison - George Harrison
George Harrison - Brainwashed
Bob Dylan and the Band - Before the Flood
Johnny Cash - Unchained
Johnny Cash - American IV : The Man Comes Around

I've been wanting to know this for a while now and it is starting to bother me.

How exactly do you pronounce "Aoxomoxoa"

Nice haul :thumb:

Aoxomoxoa is great. Hard to explain how to pronounce it over the internet though. How's Harrison's s/t? and Dylan and the Band- Before the Flood? I'm thinking of getting both of those.

Lunch 09-12-2005 03:02 PM

I have no clue how to pronounce it. I've always said ox-o-mox-oa or something like that.

JonG 09-12-2005 03:04 PM
I have no clue how to pronounce it. I've always said ox-o-mox-oa or something like that.
That's how I've said it.

I like Before the Flood a lot, I haven't listened all of Harrisons s/t yet. From the first couple songs, it's pretty good.

I'm busy listening to American IV : The Man Comes Around, it's excellent.

jpj 09-12-2005 03:05 PM

I say ay-ohx-zo-mohx-zoa...or something like that.

DeusExMachina 09-12-2005 03:07 PM

American IV is amazing. I love the cover of In My Life. And Hurt, of course, is wonderful.

JonG 09-12-2005 03:11 PM

I recently downloaded the Grateful Dead and Hot Tuna @ the Family Dog in 1969, but haven't listened to it yet.

The songs are:

Baby, What You Want Me To Do
Big Railroad Blues
Louie, Louie
Peggy Sue
That'll Be The Day
Twist and Shout
Wipeout

Man, I'm forgetful.

I also downloaded Nightfall of Diamonds in NJ

oh yeah JonG, we should totally make a trade for your Auxomoxoa and GH self titled:)

Anyways:

my riends leting me borrow Jethro Tull- Stand Up and A Passion Play tomorow, more Tull for me:)

thickasabrick 09-12-2005 03:32 PM
Look now, thats what I thought you were talking about.
I've got that shirt. The only thing I hate about a lot of my band shirts is that the only size I can ever find them in is XL, and I hate wearing like huge shirts. I like wearing relatively tight fitting clothes.

Stand Up is one of my top three favourite Tull albums. A Passion Play is really good as well, oh wait...I'm thinking of Minstel in the Gallery. I'm not sure if I've heard all of A Passion Play.

edit - Oh nice! Someone (assuming it's magicbus by the email) sent me Wired. I've got that album on vinyl. It's not my favourite album by him but he's such a great guitarist I could listen to anything.

Lunch 09-12-2005 03:33 PM

I've only seen that Who shirt in L and XL. I'm not a huge dude, so even an L is probably a little to big for a band shirt.

Stand Up was actually the first Tull album I bought, and I still really like it.

jpj 09-12-2005 03:34 PM

I like my shirts loose, I get larges, but mediums fit. I've actually had good luck with finding cool bandshirts and ones in the right size. Whodathunk Kauffman's would have a Grateful Dead and VU & Nico shirt.

I have a Who shirt with like the bullseye looking logo.

thickasabrick 09-12-2005 03:36 PM

There are so many amazing Grateful Dead shirts at this store downtown where I usually buy my band shirts. The only problem is that they are like 45 bucks and all like XXL. If they were cheaper and I could shrink them I'd buy them all.

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-12-2005 03:37 PM

:( i can never find bands shirts cuz im overweight(:(2xl-3xl)

Can anyone recomend me soem sites with good bands with any size shirts from 2xl-3xl-4xl?

Lunch 09-12-2005 03:37 PM

Stupid band t-shirts and never being the right sizes.

There are a lot of cool Dead shirts at hippieshop.com, and the prices are great.

Illmatic 09-12-2005 03:49 PM

I'm a medium/borderline large (some L shirts fit nicely, some are too big) and I really don't have that big a problem finding band shirts.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-12-2005 03:53 PM

Yea, bands shirts are huge and I mean the Dead shirt I'm wearing now is like 2 sizes to big but meh....it's still the coolest shirt I own.

NP: Piano Sonata - Beethoven (such a beautiful song)

Jacaranda 09-12-2005 03:53 PM

I'm a Medium but I'm emo so I like small shirts and all they ever have is Larges which is annoying.

JonG 09-12-2005 03:56 PM

I'm starting to see lots of posers at my school with Dead shirts.

That is the only thing stopping me from getting one.

robo2448 09-12-2005 03:58 PM
Whenever I see that shirt it's like extra small. I've never seen a really good Who shirt. I'm a medium, but for some reason my mom always buys me large shirts, which are usually too big.

Illmatic 09-12-2005 03:58 PM

I see a bunch of guys and gals here who wear Dead shirts.....they're not posers, though :upset:

np: The Beatles - Back in the U.S.S.R.

I'm the only one in my school that has this shirt so I'm feeling pretty good about it. :)

Illmatic, you're starting to get annoying with that anti-Grateful Dead talk. Like saying someone pays to much for a free greatest hits is really disrepectful. Even if you don't like them can you at least respect them for all they've done for music?

Illmatic 09-12-2005 04:11 PM

I wasn't insulting the Grateful Dead, I was insulting the fucking hippies I see on campus. Christ you're touchy. And, I've never "disrespected" the Grateful Dead. I've said I hated them and that I don't understand the appeal, but I don't think I haven't "disrespected" them.

DeusExMachina 09-12-2005 04:13 PM

Which piano sonata? Beethoven is amazing. But, I'm partial to Bach. He wrote for my instrument much more than Beethoven.

People where I live listen to one song by a band, claim to be experts, and then buy the shirts. It's sad. I've only got t-shirts for Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and The Doors. I should probably get more.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-12-2005 04:18 PM

I think JonG (or someone) said they got a free greatest hits by them and you said he payed too much. That's not disrespectful?

No need to insult those hippies either because you're in a thread with lots of them. :p

No. 14 in C sharp Minor: Adagio sostenuto (BEAUTIFUL!!!!)

I don't have many shirts at all and I can almost guantee that I know about music (in general) than anyone of my peers. All 2,800 of them. Could be wrong though.

Illmatic 09-12-2005 04:21 PM

that's why I usually buy shirts of artists who don't have huge followings among "posers".

I tend to avoid The Doors, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc.

I have t-shirts of Dylan, Miles, PE, Jeff Beck, James Brown, and The Who, and only the Who attracts "posers"/"noobs", and even then not as much as Floyd or Zeppelin.
