The fact that a lot of my friends love Rob Crow almost as much as perri makes me kind of want to disown them. (but not really)
Well here ya go- http://lix.in/47e843
Hearing normal male vocals on "Messenger" is so weird.
oh thank you |
Because I mean even heavy vegetable sucks, and compared to his other bands, they're incredible.
|
i guess... i would probably say the top 3 rob crow projects are pinback, other men, then heavy vegetable. i dont imagine you ahve listened to other men because nobody has even though i try to get people to, because that is a very different sound than anything he's done and it is pretty great. and thingy is pretty much teh same band as heavy vegetable but a little bit less interesting/funny.. um rob crow solo is okay stuff.. not really that great, like his last solo cd was very meh. goblin **** is really cool though i enjoy that. pretty much a gimmick though which is all it is meant to be, but they have some cool rhythms / riffs in it, like it's really just the structure of all his songs and his sense of melody that makes me enjoy his stuff
ic ant think of any other of his bands. well theres a bunch of old punk/hardcore bands like fantasy mission force and altron tube and the alpha males but meh |
You should send me Other Men, seeing as I've never heard of it.
Rob Crow does so much, I can't keep up, nor do I really make an effort to. |
I've listened to the Other Men album quite a bit, it's pretty good but I can't get too enthusiastic about it. Same goes for most Rob Crow stuff really, with the possible exception of Summer in Abaddon which I'm pretty fond of.

Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
I think I may like this more than Food and Liquor. Probably my favorite rap record this year (not saying a whole lot but whateva) V/A - After Dark Saw it on pitchfork, slsked it, listened to it. Was pretty good. |

I got it. It was boring. Leon Russell - S/T J Dilla - Donuts Negativland - A Big 10-8 Place |
Summer in Abbadon is really cool, but I'm not overly enthusiastic about Pinback or Rob Crow.

Bardo Pond Presents: Sublimation
4 track compilation of some heavy psychedelic/drone bands picked by Bardo Pond. |
Gene Clark. He's the best ex-Byrd of 'em all.
|
Jaga Jazzist - Magazine
|
Gene Clark. He's the best ex-Byrd of 'em all.
Bold statement senor Crumb. Digging old Leonard Cohen while brewing hot chocolate. I'm brooding tonight. |
hot chocolate sounds nice
|
and Jaga Jazzist - A Living Room Hush is nice too
|
Section 25 - Always Now
bass driven post-punk, very bleak. They were on Factory records as well, so you can imagine what they sound like. |
Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
I am also digging the fact that I now have a PS3, and it is great. |
Jah Division - Dub Will tear Us Apart
Dub versions of some Joy Division songs. |
i never would have guessed
|
I guess it is pretty obvious.
Jah Division - Dub Will tear Us Apart
Jah Division - Dub Will tear Us Apart
Dub versions of some Joy Division songs.
I'm going to check this out, thanks :naughty: |
I think Jared sent that to me a while ago. It was pretty cool from memory.
|
I'm not sure I like Joy Division enough for that to really appeal to me. I may check it out just for shits.
