I think that classic rock is from a certain time, specifically the '60s and '70s. Just because it's "older" doesn't make it classic rock.

Made sense to me, I just thought it made an interesting topic for discussion.. I mean I hear people calling ramones and sex pistols and things like that "Classic Punk" and I'm curious to know what direction genre labeling is going..I'm already confused as hell with all this "Hardcore, Post-Hardcore, Metalcore, Thrashcore, Grindcore, Street Punk, Hard Punk, Thrash, Emo, Indie, Scene, Skater, Rockabilly....etc..

Wtf does it all mean!?!?!?! :confused:

I agree. But I also think that it will get mixed in and put in larger groups as time moves on. People will probably also inccorrectly label alot of stuff as classic rock.

I hate sub-genres.

They make no sense.

I hope that the term Classic Rock always stays for the 60s and 70s. I would hate to see Green Day classified as Classic rock in 10 years. Although, I must say that in the past 5 or so years I have noticed that the genre is expanding from just the 70s to some early 80s stuff. Only time will tell-Right?

Our school has an open art studio think where a friend and I are going to set up a silk-screening operation. I will make Led Zeppelin shirts that nobody has ever seen before :D
