Rollo47 12-14-2004 08:55 AM

Hmm, what was Quatre's record?

No time to go check, methinks.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 08:56 AM

16 posts now..... definitely getting close.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 08:56 AM

I hope I counted that right.

I am a postwhore.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 08:57 AM

I own this page.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 08:58 AM

I think the big question is whether I can get 20....... or better yet, the whole page.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 08:59 AM

Well, that's 20 posts. Quatre, you have been beaten, the gauntlet has been thrown down.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:00 AM

Wow... this thread really is dead.

I'm ashamed of you all, not posting.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:02 AM

How sad...... over 50 posts today, I think.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:06 AM

I have been corrected.

"Frabjous day, caloo callay"

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:10 AM

Hmm. I'm not even posting particularly close together, and yet no-one else posts.

Where did you all go?

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:14 AM

*twiddles thumbs impatiently*

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:16 AM

My my my, almost a full page of postwhore goodness now.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:18 AM

Well, I'm bored enough to tell you about my bass lesson.

Basically, did some walking basslines, worked on scales, improv, the whole deal.

Was productive, I think.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:19 AM

Are you all sick of my obnoxious avatar yet?

Yep, I thought so.

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:20 AM

Well, one more post, I believe, and I will have one full page.

Funny, that post happens to be this one, I believe.

cheesepuff 12-14-2004 09:33 AM

wtf happened here?

Rollo47 12-14-2004 09:36 AM

I did.

Actually, no one else posted for ages.

Anyway, I'm off.
Need some sleep, I think.

Accentopus 12-14-2004 09:41 AM

Bye. This thread is sort of dying. We need a topic

Wintermute 12-14-2004 09:56 AM

Talk about furry animals.

Accentopus 12-14-2004 09:57 AM

Talking of furry animals...I looked at all the pictures of people in the pit.

cheesepuff 12-14-2004 10:00 AM

Spaceman Spiff 12-14-2004 10:49 AM

i need to do a presentation when i go back to school, luckily it isn't for marks because it is going to blow.

Omega Red 12-14-2004 10:57 AM

i have one of my finals today

Wintermute 12-14-2004 10:57 AM

So there was a change of plan today. We went to look round the new studio they're just installing. It's cost the department's entire budget for the year, and it's astonishing.

Its the kind of place where each microphone comes in a case the size of the average PC case, and costs well in excess of £1000. It's running off the very top-level Pro-tools setup, with the Diamond plugin bundle (ie. All of them) The room is acousticly treated to the point of being anechoic. The whole system runs of a bleeding edge Apple G5, with a Terabyte hardrive (1000Gb) and 4Gb of Ram, and that's sealed in a soundproofed chamber. The room has TOP quality M&K Audio monitors in a 5.1 arrangement.

It's got an oh-so-shiny ProControl desk rigged up to the computer, with as many shiny fully automated levels and dials and joysticks and faders as you could ever possibly want, including surround-sound panning joysticks.

The rack-mounts are the most impressive things of the lot, intensely impressive Manley VoxBox units, Focusrite Liquid Channel units, the lot. Some of this stuff will be the most desired products in top level pro studios... NEXT YEAR...

The downside is that the studio is for Post-grad use only, so I don't get to fiddle with it for a while yet.

Omega Red 12-14-2004 11:00 AM

sound awsome wintermute, someday you might be my producer

bottlerocket 12-14-2004 11:33 AM

I definitely want Alex to be my producer once I make some of my own solo stuff...

It's going to suck. :p

Wintermute 12-14-2004 11:40 AM

Incidentally, the studio setup cost them £100,000 (~$200,000) though it's worth closer to £150,000.

The other studios they have only cost a mere £50,000.

bassist-bmxer 12-14-2004 11:44 AM

yeah sure gav :thumb:

PaulR 12-14-2004 11:55 AM

Sound Engineering at Glamorgan, near Cardiff.

PaulR 12-14-2004 12:01 PM

Awesome possum. Did you do music at GCSE or A level, because I haven't.

It would be a shame if I was stopped doing the course because of that.

For music technology courses they usually want either a music A level or other music qualifications, but for the Sound Engineering one all they want is Maths.

PaulR 12-14-2004 12:22 PM

Ahhh, so me taking maths doesn't seem like such a bad choice now.

Cheers for the info. :thumb:
