Those set lists are pretty solid. Man I can't wait to see Roger.
|
Yeah, it was exactly the same when I saw him (as far as I know, there was a couple of songs towards the end of the first set, that I also don't recognise on that setlist).
Live, with the giant video screens, props, lights and pyrotechnics, it's fucking fantastic. |
Has anyone read the news I posted about Pink Floyd reuniting?
They will do that for 1 show again ... |
im so jealous.
and i think that article was fake, if its the same one we're talking about |
Probably, I found that link on a Peter Gabriel fansite where they said he was playing the show. I also noticed Pink Floyd in the line up
|
Roger Waters show being amazing.
 |
He was replying to a post on the previous page.

other bands similar to pink floyd plz
i started to listening to them the other day i love this **** |
And a young Pink Floyd fan is born.
I really can't think of similar bands. There's David Gilmour's solo career. |

umm what previous page |
other bands similar to pink floyd plz
i started to listening to them the other day i love this ****
Not much else sounds like Floyd. So the solo career's of the individual member's might be a good place too look. |
Radiohead?
Some of the Beatles' psychedelic stuff sounds like early floyd |
other bands similar to pink floyd plz
i started to listening to them the other day i love this ****
:thumb: I would say Porcupine Tree, they don't sound much like Floyd ... but if you like PF then it is highly likely you will like Porcupine Tree, because they are mind-blowingly awesome. |
Radiohead?
Some of the Beatles' psychedelic stuff sounds like early floyd
That's probably because toward the Sergent Pepper recordings the Beatles and Pink Floyd were in Abbey Road Studios at the same time. Floyd of course was recording Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Supposedly they would go to each other's studio rooms and listen to what each were doing to try and get some influence. |
awesome thanks guys
ill check them out |
awesome thanks guys
ill check them out
You might want to check out King Crimson too. |
I think I'll be seeing Roger Waters this summer at Summerfest. C=
|
http://www.pandora.com is great for finding similar artists
EDIT: Run Straight Down by Warren Zevon has a heavy late Floyd vibe. |
Me like Pandora :smoke:
Good for finding similar music you're into. |
Id never heard of that site before, thats really helpful. Although sometimes it misses the mark completely.
|
I have Animals and Meddle.
What next? I refuse The Wall and Dark Side of the Wall, so anything except those. |
Refusing those albums is silly, but whatever.
Get Wish You Were Here, it's their best anyway. |
It's silly but from what I've heard of The Wall I didn't like.
I'm so true that I'm purposely not getting their most popular albums. |
the wall sucks
|
The Wall has some great stuff, but I do find it a little boring sometimes. I think WYWH, Dark Side, Meddle and maybe Animals are all better.
|
It's all good. Not getting an album because of it's popularity is stupid. I really recommend Dark Side Of The Moon.
|
yeah considering it's the only pink floyd album worth listening to all the way through
|
yeah considering it's the only pink floyd album worth listening to all the way through
not even meddle? i really like that one :/
|
Guys guys we all know Ummagumma's the best.
|
i've been told it wasn't that good
|
Dark Side is definitely the best, but Meddle is my favorite...
|
i've been told it wasn't that good
You were told wrong. |
i've been told it wasn't that good
yo niobium i'll hit you up on Alt/Indie list if you want their best (imo imo imo and only mo) Atom Heart Mother or Piper at the Gates.... or Saucerful of Secrets.... |
That's quite nice of you, but... which one of the three?
|
that is not the question the question is what three of one will be your favorite!
uh. i can do all three. I like AHM the best but that generally gets rejected by most people including band members as being bad. |
Dark Side is definitely the best, but Meddle is my favorite...
But then wouldn't Meddle be the best? |
The Wall is better than Dark Side Of The Moon, but Niobium should look into Obscured By Clouds and Wish You Were Here definitely.
|

uh. i can do all three. I like AHM the best but that generally gets rejected by most people including band members as being bad.
Atom Heart Mother has always been my personal favorite. I really like The Wall a lot, too. How could you go? When you know how I need you To beat to a pulp on a Saturday night |
I don't really like the melody on that, it seems "strained" for lack of a better word.
|
Don't Leave Me Now is supposed to be strained, the character Pink is on the verge of mental collapse to match his emotional collapse in One Of My Turns.
