can anyone recommend me some good unearth albums.
|
Dark Tranquility (My personal favorite in this style)
At The Gates Soilwork Beyond The Embrace
Definatley get some Soilwork albums, starting with A Preditors Portrait. I actually just posted a topic on them last night, you can just look through my topics and find that post somewhere if you're interested on what other people think about the band. I will have to check out the rest of those bands on the list. I like In Flames a lot, so hey. The more music, the better. |
Does anyone know of any good Goatheburg metal bands? I already know of In Flames, Opeth, and Hypocrisy.
They're from the US actually, but Arsis plays in the style, though in a more aggressive sort of way. |
i need some new music that sounds kinda like slipknot... some stuff not too many people have heard of...
screaming vocals, down tuned guitar is not Korn |

Some bands you may like: Kalmah At the gates Children of Bodom They are not really like Slipkont in anyway, buy a few of my friends are Slipknot fanboys and they like these bandsalot. |

What metal bands around today would you recommend for somebody like me whos into more old school stuff (no excessive screaming)
What metal bands around today would you recommend for somebody like me whos into more old school stuff (no excessive screaming)
Well, it depends on what you consider "old school stuff". Some newer metal that's pretty low on screaming would be Nevermore, and then of course there's power metal. You could also maybe check out some thrashier stuff, that's more or less just yelling, some stuff like Kreator maybe? ___________________________________________________________ I was wondering if anyone can recommend me something on par or similar to Arcturus' Sham Mirrors album. Secondly I was wondering if there are any albums by Garm (He does the vocals on TSM, yes?) that aren't terrifying, I mean, I'm not really into Black Metal. If he's only done the Black Metal stuff just give me a starting point, I guess, because I really like his vocal style on that album. If there's really nothing close to that style on his other work, could someone maybe point me in the right direction? Once again, a fairly broad request and I hope somebody can help a brother out, thanks in advance. |
What would anybody consider to be the most destructofying explodofying and most unlistinable extreme music known to man?
one that would create such an awsome wall of sound that it would shatter n00b ears upon first listening. Black/death/grind whatever would be acceptable i'm using this as an example of what kind of noise explosions i'm looking for as its the most extreme example in my (limited) music collection. lintmunro: Age Of Silence, Solefald and Arcturus all share some members and sound. the2stranger knows a lot more on this subject.
FSMM: Wormed, the vocalist sounds like a frog and pig having sex, but its not sesame street. I don't like them at all, but it's what you want. And there's Portal, if you can find the Australian band, not the post-Cynic project of the same name. I know they have a song called Antiquate. |

And some Blind Guardian. I want to get into some more Power Metal. I waslooking at the band Stratovarious. I know about 4 songs from them. And at the band Symphony-X. Can anyone recomend me some songs from those 2 bands ? |

For an overexaggerated wall of noise, get some Berzerker. Preferrably Dissimulate.

They're pretty sweet songs, but that's about all the good stuff on that CD, rest is pretty mediocre. I hear Visions is their best album but I've yet to check it out. Symphony X: Fallen The Oddysey Smoke and Mirror Sea of Lies Don't know too much Symphony X myself, there's a few good songs though. |

Ulver is Garm's main band. They do have two black metal albums, but other than that, they are electronica/trip-hop/whatever and they've also got a folk album. I strongly reccomend Kveldssanger, which is the folk album and truely brilliant. Go for Perdition City for a trip-hop/whatever album. |
Can someone recommend the best Skinny Puppy album to start off with

I know Blessed Upon The Throne Of Tyranne and Puritania. |
Can anyone recommend me a few Dimmu Bogir songs ?
I know Blessed Upon The Throne Of Tyranne and Puritania.
Depends on what you want. If you want thier tr00 black metal days, the first 2 albums is what you want. Ethrone Darkness Triumphant is thier not-so-black metal album (along with the rest of them) but I think they're still good. Spiritual Black Dimensions is a more atmospheric keyboardy album, unlike Puritanical Euphoric Mianthropia which is a really heavy album. Here are a few songs from each album. For All Tid (For All Time) Det Nye Riket Over Bleknede Blaner Til Dommedag Glittertind Stormblast (Storm blown) Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen Sorgens Kammer Antikrist Ethrone Darkness Triumphant Mourning Palace In Deaths Embrace Master of Disharmony Spiritual Black Dimensons Reptile Promised Future Aeons The Insight And The Catharsis Puritancial Euphoric Misanthropia Architecture Of A Genocidal Nature Indoctrination The Maelstrom Mephisto Death Cult Armageddon Lapers Among Us Alleghens Dod I Helves Rike Hevenly Perverse |
good elton john songs/albums?
I don't have any of his stuff and haven't heard much but Rocket Man is a great song and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is supposedly his strongest album. |
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is good, my favourite song of his is Funeral for a Friend
|
Ive heard that neurosis sounds like cult of luna. Ive seen cult of luna and tv and didnt like em, so do you think i would like pelican, isis, otr nuerosis. Also what derek trucks, zz top and muddy waters cds. and albums to get into Sonata Arctica and blind gaurdian. sorry for spelling errors. Thanks
|
What I've heard of Cult Of Luna, the main difference is they have hardcore style vocals, but similar music to the other bands. So it all depends if it was the vocals or the music you didnt like...
