I'm still hoping for the upset here though, it's close. If we win we'll be set. This is one of our hardest games all year.
Yeah, this would have been a good upset. I'm pretty sure you guys play 'SC too. Sucks it won't be on TV though.

I'm curious, how much do students have to pay to get into stadiums and arenas for school games? I've heard some places are free and others aren't, but with a huge school like ASU I'm not sure.

EDIT: yeah, he's had a great game

It still might be, check the score :p

Yeah, our other real tough game is USC. I hope we get the upset there too :D

Season tickets are dirt cheap...under $50 I think. This game was like $20 to get in though I think, because it's technically an away game :-\ It's cheap for sure though. Not free though.

Don't count on it :p

Okay, I had a feeling they charged for students. I heard OSU homes games were something like $120, which seems a little unbelieveable :-\

Leper 09-10-2005 10:39 PM
Is it? becuase I've got NHL 2005 and its horrible, what new features does it have??
It has this new feature where you can use the left thumbstick to actually deke players, and the goalie, from side to side. Like you know how before you kind of had to improvise a deke to beat the goalie from close in? Well now the left thumbstick actually controls the where the player moves the puck, so you can really make the goalie look silly..assuming you don't get crushed before that. Also the physics are a lot better, momentum actually effects players' movement, so it feels a lot more realistic. Another thing they changed from the last game was the hit effectiveness. It seemed in 2005 that players went down waaaay to easily when they were hit. This one players actually stay on their feet more often then not, so it feels like a lot bigger accomplishment when you send someone flying. Great game overall. Hope you enjoyed my thorough review. :D

He's back in Florida FYI.

Wow, yeah, that sucks. That's ridiculous.

I have to admit, you had to see it coming. It was one of those moment where you know they're going to score, but you don't want to think so.

They were on 4th and 10...argh!

We have 1 minute to score...we can do it.

Jom 09-10-2005 10:48 PM

I really don't think people should be concerned about feeling the need that they're respected on MX. I mean, in your case, it's not like people walk over you. I just think it's goofy to come on MX and think, "Okay, I need to do SOMETHING AWESOME OMG to be respected," but that's just me, heh.

Permanent Solution 09-10-2005 10:49 PM

Oh god we just covered over 50 yards in 2 plays. We so deserve this game.

Kurtz 09-10-2005 10:50 PM

Dude, I'm never like that. Everyone I know thinks I'm really pessimistic in a situation, like if my home team is behind in a game. I'm that guy who insults his own team, and is embarrassed when they end up coming back.

Yeah, that's an odd way of putting it, though. I subconciously think "Ok, don't post this, that's pointless and stupid."

In this case it seems you were right. :(

We had the momentum for a second though. :-\

I don't really feel the need. I don't think I'm hated around the places I'm known. I was just looking at that thread about repping in the Site forum and was curious as to what people consider reppable.

But what effects does rep have on people? Are there benefits from getting a lot of positive rep?

Jom 09-10-2005 10:53 PM

The only benefit I've found with rep is to neg idiots and praise good posters. I don't think it makes you any better of a poster, and having a lack of stars shouldn't mean you're a bad poster, either. Unless you're a complete dumbass, which I'm sure you aren't :)

The new rep system calculation thing is very skewed. Under the old one, it was 2% and 1% of your total points, but I know for sure that this isn't the case anymore, and it confuses the hell out of me.

Shadows 09-10-2005 10:54 PM

I'm assuming that having a lot of positive rep will get you stars in the longrun.

 I just noticed I have over 4,000 posts. 'Tis a momentus day, is it not? :)

I'm off. Poker with friends again, and maybe Full Metal Jacket this time.

Yeah, I don't think it's a percentage factor any more. When I had 300 rep, I gave out about 30 rep points. You have about 2,000(Or did when you repped me, I'm guessing) and you gave me 70ish.

Cain 09-10-2005 11:45 PM

The only thing I care about here, respect-wise, is people having respect for my opinions, or rather, my ability to communicate them in an intelligent manner. Since this is a discussion forum, I feel that it is important as a poster to attempt to be fair-minded and good at making a point, a case, or whatever. It's not really taking the internet too seriously when I get angry or happy over a debate about opinions, since ostensibly they are all honest and present even though the faces of the people holding them are not.

It's really kind of impossible to make everyone think I'm cool, for instance, since none of you really know me in real life. I'm not exactly concerned about things like that.

Steerpike 09-10-2005 11:45 PM

Well, despite my better judgment I went to a video dance party with some of my friends because a friend of a friend was attempting to dance while smashed beyond all comprehension.

That was actually pretty funny, though the music blew. Things perked up a bit when my friend Joe and I were lucky enough to get our requests played. Float On by Modest Mouse and Time Warp from Rocky Horror.

I actually did get up and jam on the dance floor to Float On just for fun. And I danced the Time Warp. My friends got a kick out of my singing Richard O'Brian's lyrics.

"Like you're under sedation!"

Illmatic 09-11-2005 12:03 AM

It's always a good day when scUM and OSU both lose, and we have a better record than both of them.

Huber 09-11-2005 12:09 AM

I work with the biggest airheads. We were all outside just relaxing because there hadn't been any customers in awhile. Apparently all these guys knew about this, and I didn't because I'm a little new, but one of them went "hey, ever heard of the Chi Force?" I hadn't, and they want on telling me about some "force" that you can use with your hands to move **** without touching them. All of them claimed it to be very real (it could be, but coming from these guys it was nothing but hilarious). They then proceeded to motion with there hands towards there cups hoping they'd move for like 10 minutes.

Riva 09-11-2005 12:23 AM

Oh gosh I love the Rocky Horror Picture show. :D

I'm posting my MNM early, cos I wrote a great rant, I think. I'll just grab all the threads over the course of the next few days. :p

I've heard of that. That's why Tai Chi is suppose to achieve I believe. It's to raise your Chi, whilst cleansing your spirt. I think it's a bunch of bull crap myself.

Actually, Tai Chi is a martial art, and is designed to raise the body's muscle tone and mental awareness. And it works.

Oh. Then I don't know what it was, but there is some martial art that is like Tai Chi, but it's connected with the building of Chi "power".
