I haven't heard The Raincoats but Bauhaus's [i]In The Flat Field[/i] and Joy Division are good. Get these if you haven't already -

Some overlap into New Wave territory, but its an interchangeable term sometimes and I didn't think you would mind somehow. There are so many bands to look into, i've probably only scratched the surface with post-punk.

i orgasm all over Talking Heads, was hesitant to call them post-punk tho

will check out those other ones, been meaning to get into Gang of Four, public img and brithday party since i was a kid

that gang of four album is great.

haz you should check out The Raincoats' debut, all-female and has prominent scratchy violins. great stuffs
