I sometimes use Limewire, but it's a pain in the ass to find anything that isn't a well-known song

np: Beastie Boys - Johnny Ryall

Bartender 09-10-2005 03:47 PM

I haven't been able to get any p2ps to work for about nine months now.

RiceMonster 09-10-2005 03:55 PM

I use Soulseek. I can find everything I want on there. :)

Mr T - Treat Your Mother Right.

M is for the moan and the miserable groan
From the pain that she felt when I was bo'n!
O is for the oven with its burnin' heat,
Where she stood makin' sure I had somethin' to eat!
T is for the time that she stayed up nights,
And took my temperature when I wasn't feeling right!
H is for the hard-earned money she spent,
To keep clothes on my back and tried to pay da rent!
E is every wrinkle I put on her face,
And every worry that I caused when I stayed out late!
The last letter, R, is that she taught me respect,
And for the room up in heaven that I know she'll get!

She's a queen! Second to none!
Take care of mother, you only get one!

Mother! There is no other!
Like mother! So treat her right!
My mother! I always love her!
My mother! So treat her right! Treat her right!.

MR. T SEZ:
BE SOMEBODY, OR BE SOMEBODY'S FOOL!

clearvision 09-10-2005 04:21 PM

That is brilliant, i laughed so hard.

IAJP 09-10-2005 04:28 PM

It's a terrible mini-series.

He's a severely misguided indavidual, by the huge lack of grammar you could assume that Mr. T wanted you to treat his mother right, not your own.

This is for all of you Pulp Fiction fans out there, if you haven't seen this already.

Could well be, I think he might be doing excercises with overweight kids... :p

I only use slsk nowadays. No spyware, you can find practically anything, mainstream or underground, on it. I don't know why people would use Limewire or WinMX instead. Limewire is okay, but I hate how only like 60% of your actual downloads end up finishing up.

NP: Atmosphere - When it Breaks [I'm still not sure if this is an actual Atmosphere song, I need to ask Chris]

Jom 09-10-2005 05:54 PM

I looked up the lyrics, but I never get directed to a lyrics page; instead, I get directed to a message board similar to MX :-\

I don't download music from WinMX, I don't need to explain further than that do I?

Kurtz 09-10-2005 06:05 PM

That wasn't specifically toward you, but okay :-\

Haha, I think he was kidding :)

Just re-read the post, and think of the possible tones of voice he's using. It sounds like it's something a fake-angry person would wail, instead of talking down on you. Read the post aloud using the different tones. Isn't the fake-angry tone a lot more funnier? Yes.

Of course, that's just my opinion. I think Ollie's kidding, since he's talked like that to me on MSN before, and we have similar humour (omg international spelling, wtf?).

NP: Cradle of Filth - "Mannequin"

Lord Abortion 09-10-2005 06:23 PM

I was indeed kidding, I didn't know you'd "take it the wrong way"

also, awesome song, Jom

Heh, whatever man. I've been feeling pretty dense all day.

Does anyone here have any indie recommenations? All I've really heard are Pixies, The Decemberists, and Death From Above 1979, and I love it. I feel intimidated to start a recommendation thread in A&I :-\

I'm using this too much ----------------------------^

Sonic Youth
Misson of Burma
Flaming Lips (probably not "true" indie, but whatever)

Kurtz 09-10-2005 06:28 PM

Thanks Ray.

Would Dinosaur Jr. count?

Illmatic 09-10-2005 06:30 PM

No problem.

and Dinosaur Jr. is definitely an indie band. You might also want to check out Husker Du and the Meat Puppets

Hey, Ollie, I wanted to ask if I could use your usertitle in a movie. I was thinking about it walking back from the pub this evening, and it gave me this funny idea for a fake movie trailer.

Pfft, no worries, Ali. Thanks, though, for wanting to do that.

Modest Mouse, Kashmir, The Arcade Fire, Cursive (kinda), Death Cab for Cutie/The Postal Service, Minus the Bear, Pedro the Lion

/my list wins
It's the name of a track from Cradle of filth's next album but...go ahead sir!
Oh... Well, I'm going to use it anyway. Since it's technically a parody and will probably have absolutely nothing to do with the Cradle of Filth song, I doubt there will be a problem.

Eh, I like those bands, but they're pretty hit or miss, love or hate. Either way he ought to check them out.

TAF is good stuff though, indeed. Best band on my list is probably Kashmir though.
