Tender - Was it Six Underground? That was actually played quite a bit on the radio. Does anyone know of any of their good albums?

Use Zyrtec if you don't already, that stuff has saved my life on several occasions.

Steerpike 09-10-2005 09:20 AM

I'm going into town this afternoon, so I'll keep that in mind.

On a more positive note, my spotlight on The Clarks is finally up. As a Pittsburgher myself, I was pretty much obligated to do this one eventually.

I can't remember the name of the song actually, it's been a good few years since I've heard it. It was good, though. I don't own anything by them; I think Becoming X is the album people mostly talk about, though.

*assumes you're talking about the Sneaker Pimps*

"Take me doooown...six underground. blah-blah blah-blah"

Yes, I'm talking about the Sneaker Pimps.

Does anyone know of any FREE gif creators? Free being the word, I don't want, "99c Per Gif!" or any crap like that.

Just something that will create a gif, :upset:.

Any help would be lovely

Attention:

Anyone who is looking for cool trip hop must report to their local CD store and purchase Broadcast - Tender Buttons.

Thank me later.

Arrakakaka 09-10-2005 10:07 AM

I am so obsessed with messing with my album playlist on Sputnik. I can't figure out what to keep, and what to delete! I left on what I am currently digging.

Anyone like it?

Could you talk more about them? I'm a big trip-hop fan, and haven't heard of them.

munky_magik 09-10-2005 10:08 AM
The only Sneaker Pimps I know is a song that I got free with the first media player I downloaded, MusicMatch Jukebox. It as pretty good, if I remember.

Anyway, trip-hop is rather a small genre at the best of times.

It most likely was Six Underground. I think that's one of the songs I uploaded for my FL, if you aren't opposed to downloading songs still.

Well, I may as well urge you to check it out. It's got a pretty good cast - Robin Williams, Edward Norton, Danny DeVito, Jon Stewart, and so on - and it just is a great film. Original (which isn't easy), no cheap laughs, weird without being too weird, and well-acted.

NP Dog Eat Dog - Expect the Unexpected
It sounds interesting, I'll have to try and check it out at somepoint.
Nice song choice

You can get a free trial version of Ulead Gif Animator from http://www.download.com which works very well.

I'm not really sure if they are even trip hop, but IMO they are a very fun and interesting band to listen to.

AIM: BeerHotWingsRock

I'll send you the album.

I would like to, but I haven't heard of it, which means that even if I did find it in a record store it would most likely be prohibitively expensive :(

EDIT: Incidentally, could you recommend me an Atmosphere album?

Cheers! :D

Also, talking of Trip Hop, I've just been listening to Biscuit by Portishead, now that's a song..

(I'm gonna rapidshare an image of all the components of my supposedly new avatar, edit in in a sec)

I could send you the album through AIM if you'd like.

My favorite Atmosphere album is Lucy Ford.

If I could get that to work, I'd have some nasty **** right there.

Dried Muffin Remnants 09-10-2005 10:26 AM

While I really like the genre, I don't think any group of the genre is even close to Massive Attack. None of those band have put out anythign even close to as good as Mezzanine. Endtroducing is very good, but that is definitely more of a typical techno album. It just has some trip-hop elements.

clearvision 09-10-2005 10:33 AM

I like dummy alot.

Endtroducing, i don't really class as trip-hop. It goes in the same genre as aphex twin for me.

Dried Muffin Remnants 09-10-2005 10:34 AM

I like Dummy as well, but every song sounds the same.

munky_magik 09-10-2005 10:34 AM

I would be hesitant about calling Endtroducing a techno album. To me there seems to be alot of ground between it and most Aphex Twin stuff.

clearvision 09-10-2005 10:37 AM
I like Dummy as well, but every song sounds the same.
This is true.

Endtroducing isn't as fast paced as the aphex twin i have, but it's based around the same things i think. EG not your usual song type of layout.

ATM 09-10-2005 10:37 AM

If you like DJ Shadow, you need to hear DJ Qbert. AIM me and I'll send to anyone interested.

There is. I'd say Endtroducing is a cross-breed...

Arucard 09-10-2005 11:12 AM

Oooh yes, Back On The Streets gig went amazingly. I'm very happy, as it was our first gig, and the crowd (all 30 of them ha) loved it. We've been booked for a couple more gigs already, and i was supringly good with the audience, which was nice. I'll upload a video of one of the songs later.
