I'm kind of half-watching and listening to the movie Alien while I study. I love this movie, and the music and sound is really amazing.

Robert Crumb 12-17-2007 07:33 PM

Do it man, everybody should draw comics. With nibs. Because nibs kick ***.

Have you heard some Takeshi Terauchi? Kick *** stuff, I should throw him up on the mailing list or somethin

All from 2007, all brilliant.

Is it as good as Black Mountain's stuff?

Tangy zizzle 12-18-2007 04:44 PM

No. That said, it is a completely different band with different approach and songwriters. Good album though.

Depreciation Guild- In Her Gentle Jaws

This album is fantastic. So many layers. I think it's my 2nd favorite of this year, but I'll have to let it settle for a while first.

Oh, yeah, its also available free.

You should really, really check this band out if you're into any of those 4AD bands, or even dig stuff like Swervedriver.

A Dead Modernist 12-18-2007 06:47 PM

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

Bought the collector's edition a couple days ago.

Oval - 94diskont

Pretty nice.

I usually hate digital glitches.

A Dead Modernist 12-18-2007 07:22 PM

La Revolucion 12-18-2007 07:57 PM

Yeah, I really like Oval. They take a bit of a different approach to things than most artists in their genre.

Other diggings:
Cecil Taylor - 3 Phasis
Anything I can get my hands on from Soul Jazz Records
The Chills - Kaleidoscope World (everyone should hear the song Pink Frost)

YDload 12-18-2007 08:43 PM

Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You

yeah this is great. Really into "Demons Sing Love Songs" and "December" especially

Apocalyptic Raids 12-18-2007 08:43 PM

Ride - Nowhere
Dirty Three

Glad someone here has realised this. One of the spookiest and coolest songs ever made man.

AndreTheHyena 12-18-2007 11:16 PM

I've been listening to a lot of Richmond Fontaine - Lost Son. Really weird, narrative alt. country/punk rock, like if Uncle Tupelo's No Depression was covered by a post-hardcore band.
