That sounds like a Dana Carvey sketch where he made up a song about some woman 'Choppin' Broccoli'
Yea, he was making fun of that song.
The one where at the beginning it's just piano and vocals and he says "She as cold as ice..."?

David Bowie and Iggy Pop

Low, Lust For Life, and The Idiot = underrated albums
I'm mad that Iggy sold out his Lust for Life single for that vacationing commercial.

He sold it to the mexicans. :upset:

I found another Foreigner song I like, Hot Blooded. Again not that good just catchy. Pretty much al the other stuff I heard sucked and it was their entire greatest hits.

:shudder: I forgot about that song. Another reason why Foreigner sucks. Same with REO Speedwagon.

robo2448 05-15-2005 05:47 PM

My bad, I didn't think my first reply went through, lunch, I'll try sending it now.

robo2448 05-15-2005 06:13 PM

Hot Blooded and Cold as Ice are **** catchy songs.

REO Speedwagon sucks, they're going to be at that festival. God, how I am going to taunt them Same goes for Trooper.

ATM 05-15-2005 06:24 PM

I'm downloading a Bela Fleck and the Flecktones concert

Ugh I can't stand REO Speedwagon. I don't mind Trooper, I've got a few of their albums and they have some decent songs...they were a little too poppish at times though. My dad really liked Trooper though, our dog is named Trooper.

Foreigner isn't what I'd call a great band, but I like the singers voice..and they have tons of catchy songs.

Thanks for helping decide that after 1309 pages.

Some of their earlier stuff is too bad. Like late 70s.
Most of my dads albums that I borrow are on viynl so I can't putmthem on my iPod.
connect your player to the soundcard then use a recording software to convert them into mp3 format.

Did any of you know Kenny Loggins was a member of The Electric Prunes?

Weird...

I've never heard the Electric Prunes, but Kenny Loggins doesn't seem like the type to be in a band called The Electric Prunes.

By the way...did you see Dancin' Mans post in the Worst Screwups thread?

Badmoon 05-15-2005 08:38 PM

They were a Psychedelic band.
By the way...did you see Dancin' Mans post in the Worst Screwups thread?
Yeah, quite annoying and rather bitchy; you responded nicely.

thickasabrick 05-15-2005 08:58 PM

Anyone here listen to the Mamas and the Papas? I have one of their records, and have heard a few of their other songs and I'd have to say I like them.

Let's hear some of your opinions on them. I don't really know enough about them to have a real discussion though.

I liked them when I was a kid and a few years ago I rediscovered them. The harmonies are great, and they have a part of that quintessential 60's sound
What have you heard? I am a assuming California Dreamin' and Monday, Monday at least

Yeah, I looked back and saw that post. I was appalled  That's like saying good musicians suck. Improv is amazing. The fact that they could extend a song that long is phenominal.

NP: Grateful Dead - Shakedown Street

Plus, I am sure that he is a fan of music that occasionally surpasses 3:00 minutes. Foolish hypocrite.

Illmatic 05-16-2005 03:32 PM

Clearly both sides in this case are biased, so, I neutral observer (someone who can't get wrap my mind around the Grateful Dead), will comment:

clearly extending a song too long makes it suck. I haven't heard the Dead live, but I've heard Phish live, and when you take a song and stretch it out too long, the song loses its initial punch.

Badmoon 05-16-2005 03:54 PM

Well, it’s not even that comment that we are completely against; it is the insensitiveness and immaturity.

"I hate the Grateful Dead because they extend their songs too long." Okay, it's your opinion, but...
That's why Jerry Garcia died, God hated him for making crappy songs crappier through length and so he was smitten
I would expect that comment from an 11 year old noob.

Well I've got one of their albums, and it includes both those songs. They did have great harmonies, that's possibly what I like best about them. What do you think is their best album?

I'm watching my Doors DVD again and it's just amazing. I wish it were longer though.

I love it.

I love when they are coming off the plane and also when Jim holds the ash trasy up to his face.

Haha ya. They are all asked their name age and occupation in the airport...Jim doesn't feel necessary to give his last name (apparently just Jim will do), and when asked his occupation...he thinks for a few seconds and then kinda just looks at the camera and chuckles to himself.
