Those two are pretty accessible. I turned someone on to Husker Du also, but if you grew up in the 90's those sort of riffs are already engraved in your brain anyway.

I have introduced plenty of music to friends, but only certain friends for the most part. People who actually came to me and asked me to reccomend stuff, or if I know what they listen to and know something similar. Although I compare music that sometimes no one else hears the comparison at all.
But I've gotten friends into lots of music. |
give up on letting normal people listen to music. (though to be fair to my classmates who didn't like Husker Du, the guitars WERE too loud and the production in general was simply bad)

Since I'm home it's easier to use my home computer than my laptop (plus on my laptop, winamp keeps shutting down for no reason.
