I gave Earth's new album a listen as well, and it seemed pretty good. I'll be playing it a lot more since they're playing here in February (with support from Sir Richard Bishop!).

Talking Heads - '77
Oh shi

The weirdest thing I found looking for stuff was this:

I dunno how I missed it earlier.
The oldest guy in that (Buster Martin is his name, I think) is awesome. He's 101 years old, and was in the news a few months ago for fighting off three youths who attacked him for some reason (and reporting in for work the next morning, fresh out of hospital).

The music I don't know much about, though, just remember seeing a short news story about them recording their cover.
No Age

This band rules. Reasonably lo-fi, catchy, fuzzy punk
Can't wait to see them open for Liars.

Anxious 12-15-2007 12:24 PM

I should order my ticket for that...

That makes me smile. Also, I can't imagine being able to take **** without help at 101, let alone working.

The music is a bit canned, but the video on youtube is worth checking out.

This album is such a grower, the song Nantes is perfect.

Thanks 12-16-2007 12:34 PM

If it's raw, it's better.

Spiderland was grown on me considerably. Good Morning, Captain is such an incredible song.

samariah 12-16-2007 02:01 PM

yea it is, so is Nosferatu Man. ive been listening to Tweez more and its starting to grow on me, i really like Carol. spiderland is probably my favorite album right now.

Neoteric 12-16-2007 02:09 PM

I hate Tweez.

Spiderland rules though.

samariah 12-16-2007 02:20 PM

yeah its definitely nowhere near as good as spiderland but i enjoy listening to it.

the EP is awesome as well

Time 12-16-2007 02:55 PM

I personally think I like Washer the best, but Good Morning Captain, Breadcrumb Trail and Nosferatu Man are all immensely good too.

I agree with these statements. "Don, Aman" is my favorite Slint song. Their new song is good too.

I agree. I hated it at first, but now I prefer that album over Gulag.

Also, I've been listening to Why? a lot lately, they're one of my old favorites that I've recently re-discovered

samariah 12-16-2007 05:00 PM
