And yeah, classic rock is becoming extremely popular among teenagers.
maybe because our parents used to play it as our lullabye. :) i grew up listening to satriani. :)

lunch998 05-14-2005 10:29 PM

I didn't know anyone thought it was not great. Even if you don't like it, you still can't say it wasn't great.

Edit: About Sgt. Pepper's.

SonorKen 05-14-2005 10:31 PM

I think classic rock has become so interesting to teens because of parental influence. It is a breath of fresh air to see some kids with taste for a change!

lunch998 05-14-2005 10:40 PM

Wow, look who stopped in.

Yea, my dad had a big influence on my musical tastes.

Kids started to realize that it sucks trying to be the opposite of your parents :)

I trade cds with my parents :/

lunch998 05-14-2005 10:47 PM

I borrow my parent's albums all the time.

JonG 05-14-2005 10:52 PM

I just take my dads vinyls and my dads CDs. All in all, it works out :)

Illmatic 05-14-2005 11:46 PM

Both my mom and my stepdad have good taste, so it's all good.

I've swiped plenty of their CDs.

Glitterati 05-15-2005 12:27 AM

Anyone like the band Heart?

ArcLite 05-15-2005 12:30 AM

Not a huge fan of female fronted bands, but I heard them a lot growing up being as my dad is a fan, so I like a lot of their songs.

Glitterati 05-15-2005 12:47 AM

I do believe we've mentioned every single classic rock band to ever exist.

Illmatic 05-15-2005 12:48 AM

Nuh-uh.

Well, I need sleep, so you try to figure out what we haven't discussed.

Good night, all
Anyone like the band Heart?
I'm a fan of Heart man. Dreamboat Annie is known to be their best, I think it is too. I don't wanna be sexist, but I was quite surprised when I saw one of them playing the intro to Crazy On You live. She's actually quite skilled at the guitar (she played it much faster than I could).

They had some downright rocking songs...harder rocking songs than a lot of the male fronted bands at the time, the vocals kinda just made them seem a little more..feminine (if that isn't expected and assumed)

Broken Arrow 05-15-2005 08:17 AM

I only know one Heart song, anyone care to guess what one?

Baracuda?

/The only one I know

Haha.........yeah.

It sounds like Achilles Last Stand except worse. It's ok though.

I didn't feel any Zep in it when I heard it. But I really only remember the part that goes OoooOOh BarCUDa!

Well I was only basing the similarties in the riffs.
I borrow my parent's albums all the time.
I borrow the albums, burn them onto my ipod, and return them. I feel bad though, because almost all the albums I've given them for their birthdays or Christmas are on my ipod.

TheDMV 05-15-2005 09:04 AM

I would borrow my parents albums if they didn't lose all the goos ones. I've gotten BEatles 1, Van Morrison - Moondance, and Best of the Doobies from my Dad. They are all pretty decent. I should probably ssteal his best of Roy Orbison soon.

Broken Arrow 05-15-2005 09:09 AM

Most of my dads albums that I borrow are on viynl so I can't putmthem on my iPod.

TheDMV 05-15-2005 09:11 AM

My dad got rid of all his vinyls and his record player. :upset:

lunch998 05-15-2005 09:40 AM

The rhythm section of Barracuda is based heavily on Achilles Last Stand, except its not as good.

Have we discussed Chicago in this thread?

I just heard 25 or 6 to 4 on the radio.

Badmoon 05-15-2005 11:16 AM

That's a good song. They have some really good stuff, especially on Chicago Transit Authority.
