Not yet, i'll probably go eventually, mainly if I really get involved with working funeral services. That's about 4 years of hard study though, heh.
I have a job kind of :o I'm getting one tonight thank you
Like embalming people and shi? |
Like embalming people and shi?
Pretty much. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undertaker I'm working as an apprentice right now. |
Damn hippie!
Hahahaha. Obviously I wasn't going to shave it all off. :p |
My hair has grown about 1/2 inch tops this whole summer =/
Do you enjoy it?
I'm not involved enough to really say, but yes so far. It can be pretty depressing but there's more to that. Giving people closure can be a massive payoff. Being able to fix up a wounded/disfigured corpse and making it look normal or even like younger version is almost like an art, and it definitely aids the family.
Hahahaha. Obviously I wasn't going to shave it all off. :p
Do it! I did it and it's great, haha. |

I'm not sure i'll be able to do it either :p The guy I work under said it gets pretty numbing and you get over the gross factor most of the time. He also mentioned his first baby he had to deal with really affected him. Apparently all child deaths are autopsied and never come to a mortician in one piece :\ |
when i die i want to look as horrible as possible
|
Come to me and i'll poo on you

No way man. Besides, you didn't have a lot of hair to shave off compared to me. If I regret it, I have to wait another 2 years. |
I noticed something. Some of the people who are now constantly talking about their first day/week of college are the same people who would say "Nobody gives a ****" to those of us who went through it years ago.
|
amazing

Perpetualization of ritual. You probably would have said the same thing ^_^ |
Well, I had fun last night. I met some of a frien'ds female friends and they are either in a relationship or about to start one.
How awesome. Also, I went to a mall in the evening and it was full of mexican versions of emo kids. :| Well, it was annoying sure, but most of the kids weren't very brown, so they didn't look out-of place. It annoys me though, that they probably don't know fuck about the emo or hardcore scene. And a guy I know from high school smoked pot and he was listening to Reggae. If that isn't cliché then I don't know how to define cliché. |
Perpetualization of ritual.
You probably would have said the same thing ^_^
Well, I make it a point to never say that at all, but I get your point. |
College is not a big deal, kids are just frightened to live new things nowadays because nintendo makes everything easier.
|
College is a big deal to most entering freshman because it introduces an autonomy many of them have not experienced before. Since it's new to them they think it's not normal for the majority of people so they think it makes them cool.
Luckily most catch on within a semester that being at college doesn't make them cool. The ones that don't tend to be the wealthy kids who don't have to worry about the responsibility associated with the autonomy of school. |
Eh, we all go through that phase. Immediately following that autonomy-is-cool phase is the knowing-specific-information-on-a-topic-for-the-first-time=I-know-everything-on-earth phase.
|
Or those who live with their parents even when they are in college / university. It's almost weird how all those kids want to be independent but they don't know the implications of living on their own, particularly those who care about school (most college students don't, to be honest).
But yeah, those who move 1,000 miles away from home are the most pretentious. I am pretentious. |

I actually never went through the autonomy is cool phase in college because i was autonomous enough in hs anyways. But I think I'll forever be stuck in the I know everything phase. :( |
I moved 1000 miles and it doesn't really matter. What significance is there in how far you moved for college anyways? =\
|
itt the frequent use of the word "autonomy"
|
It makes you cooler. We just talked about this!
tbh an asshole from the east coast is just as bad as one from the west coast is the same as a local. Now, this being said, foreigners are cool. But not because they come from afar. In fact, Mexicans at my school could have traveled less than I did in fact. |
haha I hate those people
especially you I usually just throw the "I moved 5,000 miles away and I'm not a giant faggot like you" in their face B-)
It's OK to throw it in people's face every now and then. Especially when they bitch about not having a penny.
I moved 1000 miles and it doesn't really matter. I'm planning to live at home for at least half of my four years of university

Which is why most of those kids are homesick within the first month after they realize no one cares about them like their family. |
If I had a school close to my school, I would definitely live from home. That's the only real expense I have with tuition paid for.
Plus I love my mommy. EDIT: I'm about 200 miles away from home and not homesick at all because I was smart enough to bring along some of my best friends. |
i lived in the dorms my freshman year, it was fun meeting a lot of new friends but the food sucked. im living at home now and have to drive 20 miles back and forth everyday. hopefully i can get an apartment when i get a teaching position. it sucks living at home but my mom is a good cook lol
|
The food here is great, I have to say.

Little do they realize having a fresh start sucks. SOP: Me too. Like, they're really great people, but the less I have to interact with them the better tbh. |

Which is why most of those kids are homesick within the first month after they realize no one cares about them like their family.
Yeah, I'm well aware I'm still dependent of my parents but I'd like to make that the least difficult possible, nonetheless it is indeed frihtening to think about the expenses a house, a department and self-support requires. Welcome to real life. :) |
Today is pretty much the worst day of my life.
|
I think I'm a pretty good distance in terms of uni and my permanent residence. They're far away enough that they can't unexpectedly drop in on me, but close enough to the point that they're not insanely far away.
The one thing I immediately miss between the two places is my mom's cooking. I swear, without Pepto Bismol during that first week of eating uni food, I'd have no idea what I'd do if I ever ran out of ingredients for sandwiches or didn't have a pot to boil pasta. The only drawback is fielding the interrogation from my mom, which in itself isn't really a drawback, but she asks a lot of questions and it's kind of :\ for me for a couple reasons. But, overall, it's pretty cool, I'd say. My parents are awesome. |
On the bright side you can enjoy your mom's cooking if you go to visit. Lucky bastard.
Blah, I just got kicked out of my house. |
I was wondering why today was the worst day of your life; it reminded me of Office Space. How are you on the Internet without a home, though?
|
I feel bad for you guys, the food here rules. A few nights ago I had pork chops and roast turkey in the same meal. Good stuff.
|

local lan center, i have like an hour left on my account though. =/ hopefully my parents will cool down. |
I'm good at cooking my own good so it's not a huge concern. Nonetheless, my mom's cookings has that cool, weird, mystic vibe that can't be copy pasta'd. :(
