Ive never heard of them, but when you see them, be sure to write i review. Id personally really like to know how it was.

Theirs a popular tribute band called something like The 1964 Tribute (Not sure though) thats sopposed to be really good. Their coming here i believe in Febuary, and ill probably go see them. Anybody heard of these guys or Rain?
I saw the end of that concert on PBS once, it looked ok. I didn't any spectacular performances.
How the hell does everyone see these good things on PBS. Whenever I turn to PBS it's a nature or kid's show.

Distant Echoes 09-18-2005 06:58 PM

You need to catch it at night. usually around 7 or 8, or if its a long broadcast (like for the live aid dvd), you can usually get them on around 6

Sixties week: 26-29 of Sept
The Bob Dylan Documentary, "No Direction Home" shown over two nights, starting on Mon Sept. 26

If it's not on where you live, I suggest you hightail it over the NY/CT border

Yea, I knew the Dylan documentary was on. I'm definitely catching that. Didn't know it was '60s week though. Cool.

I watched the mp3s. They looked pretty good, but it's hard to tell anything from 30 seconds. Have fu. Tell us how it is. I might have to check back to that site to see if they come to NY.

blue3 09-18-2005 07:46 PM

Their show is in January.. so it'll be awhile.

DeusExMachina 09-18-2005 08:30 PM

Rain is quite a good tribute band. I saw them, and thought they did a great job.

On the topic of band shirts, my dad used to have a huge collection of authentic shirts, because he ran a concert venue in Berkeley. But, they all died in the fire. Sad face.

Hey people, I just saw McCartney in Tampa last night. Just to let you know, Paul fell into the piano pit that was opening up behind him...fell right on his @ss, but got right up and continued like a pro. Then a freak stormed the stage in the the end,...hugged Paul and was tackled by security..what a scary moment if you where alive and conscience in 1980...

Anyhow..a great show, he played "too many people"...rare thing, BTW.

GeorgeHarrison 09-18-2005 09:28 PM

yeah, im seeing him on the 22nd of october. post the set list if you can remember any of it. And did he play any of the stuff off his new album? i got that the other day, and IMO its amazing. each track, awesome. if any of you guys have heard it, what do you think?

When I saw Paul in '02, it was perfect.

Leper 09-20-2005 12:26 AM

Geez I state the obvious once, and suddenly everyone goes speechless.

blue3 09-20-2005 12:45 AM

Alright.. Um, Beatles rule.. That sounds like an awesome show. I wish I get to see Paul McCartney live sometime.

NP: The Beatles - The Night Before

Ulysses 09-20-2005 03:33 AM

That would be an awesome show, I wish I had the opportunity to see Paul McCartney live, it would no doubt be a fantastic performance and an experience that would be hard to surpass.

Mizuzack 09-20-2005 04:58 AM

Beatles are alright at times.

Violent_Bill 09-20-2005 05:08 AM
Beatles are alright at times.
No, Beatles are amazing almost if not all of the time.

Mizuzack 09-20-2005 05:10 AM
No, Beatles are amazing almost if not all of the time.
In your opinion, and in mine, they are alright at times.

Distant Echoes 09-20-2005 01:36 PM

On Rain, I just got an email from my local radio station today that there coming here in a month or so. If you hadnt of told me this the day before, i wouldve disregarded it. Nice work :)

THeir having a presale two days before the public sale here and you can save $10 for a ticket. I may go, but tix are going for about $50, and i dont know if that is worthit (especially if i pay $150 for a cream tick) I might though...depends who else is going.

I think you are too MX-self-concious, this thread is pretty vacant anyway

Broken Arrow 09-20-2005 01:42 PM

Rain is coming near me too, I may go see them.

You're welcome to your opinion, but we (at least I) would prefer it if you would tell us why you only think they're average or whatever.

That sounds like an amazing setlist. I'm seeing McCartney on the 8th, I can't wait.

BludgeonySteve 09-20-2005 05:39 PM
Rain is coming near me too, I may go see them.
I saw them. They're how i'd imagine the Beatles would be (on account of i've never seen them live, obviously. And they didn't get extremely good until after they stopped touring so I wouldn't get a DVD).

Broken Arrow 09-20-2005 05:52 PM

Ok, I'll get my mom to get the tickets.

robo2448 09-20-2005 06:47 PM

Wow. That McCartney setlist looks amazing. Tons of songs, how long did he play for?

I'd like to see McCartney if he tours again next year, which I doubt he will. Maybe in a couple years he'll come back here. Rain sounds pretty good too, I'll check out the tickets when the NY dates are on the site.

Woodstock 09-20-2005 07:02 PM

Anyone bought the new McCartney album? I heard it's supposed to be great.

DeusExMachina 09-20-2005 08:15 PM

I heard similarly good reviews. Anyone want to email it out? That would be pretty cool.

Seafroggys 09-20-2005 09:58 PM

**** YEAH HELTER SKELTER! I've been wanting him to do this live for years, and finally he is! This will be the killer song of all time live!

Skeksis 09-20-2005 10:29 PM

the beatles suck

Why don't you tell me why they sound amazing ALL the time to you?

I just think it is average music what more do you want me to say. It is average to my ears.

Neat.

So I heard Keith Moon saw the Beatles at dinner one time and walked up and asked them if he "Could join?" to which they replied "Ya, sure sit down". And then he said "No, can I join your band?", Ringo was sitting their the whole time also.

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-21-2005 06:34 AM

^^

if i were Ringo i would have jumped up and punched him straight in the face, or at least have a drum-off which of course Ringo would win.

Does anyone have Anthology 1 that they could email out?

Jacaranda 09-21-2005 06:36 AM

I'm not to sure about that...

Keith > Ringo

WelcomeToTheMachine 09-21-2005 06:41 AM

Ehh...im just basing that on favrites,if it came down to it

Keith > Ringo
