RustedPieces 05-30-2005 05:47 PM

I'd like to hear you guys do Sabbra Cadabra. That would be cool.

Brew 05-31-2005 02:47 AM

I can play Sabbra Cadabra.

The Warning would be good to do, I can play that.

Iron Man is easy.

AA-12 05-31-2005 02:49 AM

Hmm.

Brew 05-31-2005 02:51 AM

i_am_jimmy_page can play drums, I think. Not sure how he'd record them though.

AA-12 05-31-2005 02:52 AM

I have no problem programming them, it's just i've never tried covering the drums in a song, so i'm not sure how hard it is.

Brew 05-31-2005 02:56 AM

Ideally if we want it to sound good, the drums + bass would need to be recorded at the same time, If we programmed the drums first, then layed the bass over it, the guitar could then be done with the vocals being last.

AA-12 05-31-2005 02:58 AM

True, but the bass and drum parts could be mixed so they sound alright.

Brew 05-31-2005 03:03 AM

Aye.

So...when do we need to choose a song + get it all done?

AA-12 05-31-2005 03:05 AM

Hmm, i'd say as soon as possible, that way we wouldn't be pushed for time, but i'm sure they'll announce the deadline soon.

Brew 05-31-2005 03:13 AM

Okie.

If we could get a guitarist to do The Warning, that would be really good.

Unless they set a limit on song length, that would suck.

AA-12 05-31-2005 03:21 AM

I can try to learn The Warning.

EDIT: Maybe not. :-/

Dave*Grohl 05-31-2005 03:23 AM
I like 'War Pigs' a lot. The more I've listened to Black Sabbath lately, I've noticed that they sound a lot like Led Zeppelin. Has anyone ever noticed that or am I crazy?

Monti
idiot, Led Zeppelin sounds like Black Sabbath, not the other way around

 It's great to watch people in this thread.
idiot, Led Zeppelin sounds like Black Sabbath, not the other way around
Can you explain how Led Zep sounds like Sabbath instead of Sabbath sounding like Led Zep?

Surely its the same thing?

rippa32 05-31-2005 05:07 AM

Actually I think they sound nothing alike but thats just me.

AA-12 05-31-2005 05:21 AM

Same here.

Arise II 05-31-2005 07:32 AM

Since there's obviously a few hardc0re fans here, can anybody tell me what's up with the extremely phucked up drum sound on "Children Of The Grave""

Brew 05-31-2005 07:36 AM

Percussion.

I'm not 100% what Bill used, but its close to bongo drums I think.

Hauntedman 05-31-2005 10:49 AM

I haven't read all 172 pages but I don't think Zeppelin sound like Sabbath. However British doomsters Cathedral DO sound a helluva lot like Sabbath, especially on The Carnival Bizarre. Anyone agree?

Brew 05-31-2005 11:18 AM

From what I've heard of Cathedral, I'd say that they've been influenced alot by Sabbath.

Sounds like they just recorded an extra track with african drums.

You guys gonna do a song for that thing?

AA-12 05-31-2005 02:43 PM

Yes.

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 02:45 PM

What song you doing?

AA-12 05-31-2005 02:45 PM

We haven't really decided yet.

Josh 05-31-2005 02:48 PM

Titch, do you have a multitrack recorder thing, or were you just talking about getting one?

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 02:48 PM

You could do paranoid

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 02:50 PM
Titch, do you have a multitrack recorder thing, or were you just talking about getting one?
Im gonna buy one, but i need a job.

Arise II 05-31-2005 02:51 PM

Come on, Into the Void or Symptom of the Universe \m/

Josh 05-31-2005 02:53 PM
You could do paranoid
yeh.......let's.......not.

get a job, then you can do the whole song by yourself

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 02:53 PM

I feel sorry for the drummer that has to do sympton of the universe.

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 02:53 PM

We played allendale on monday, it was bollocks

I was learning valley of the ****ed by dragonforce the other day on the guitar, its bloody solid!

Josh 05-31-2005 02:55 PM

did you do paranoid? i would have paid to see (and laugh at) Stu trying to sing that. at least you got paid.

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 02:57 PM

We didnt do it (Zed-x did though), i havnt got my share of the pay yet!

Josh (sack-man josh) how do you fancy starting a metal band when you get good on the bass?

Josh 05-31-2005 02:59 PM

yeh, get philly in as well, he's actually a decent singer as well as a good guitarist. what sabbath is easy on bass (but not fast)?

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 03:00 PM

how about no on philly singing...

I've decided that by the end of the holidays i am going to have learnt all of the paranoid album on the drums...possibaly with the exception of war pigs.

AA-12 05-31-2005 03:01 PM

^^^Iron Man is quite fun and easy.

I really need to get people in my band. It gets old doing vocals/guitar/drums/bass/keyboard alone, haha. I'm sure with more people it would be more interesting anyway.

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 03:03 PM

Iron man is really fun to play, especially when you just use one tom.

Problem is there aint anyone i really know to be in a band with that will do metal...

shadow_stalker 05-31-2005 03:06 PM

Electric funeral is one of the funnest songs i have ever played when it gets to the break-down bit.

Ooh double post.
