FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 09:37 PM

ok since I sucat sweeping, what are some good, fairly easy solos that I can start out with?

MAthiAS 08-21-2005 09:37 PM

I'll tab out a little etude I learned sweeping with later for ya.

FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 09:40 PM

ok thanks man, but in the mean time, are there any easy solos that i can learn?

MAthiAS 08-21-2005 11:12 PM

Some of Hangar 18, Marty's electric solos in Holy Wars, some in Take No Prisoners too...

Here's that tab, its in Em by the way.

e|-19p15-------------15-19p15--20p15--17p15|-19p14-------------15p14--17p14--19p14-|
B|----------17-----17---------------------------------|----------15-----15------------------------------|
G|--------------16-------------------------------------|--------------16----------------------------------|

e|-15p12--------------15p12--14p12--15p12|-17p14-------------15p14--17p14-|
B|----------13-----13------------------------------|----------15-----15-------------------|
G|--------------12----------------------------------|--------------14------------------------|

Hope that turned out okay.

FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 11:14 PM

??????????

I can't fix it caus I don't know what goes where.

MAthiAS 08-21-2005 11:14 PM

That's an exercise that helped me a lot with sweeping.

FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 11:17 PM

ok I fixed it. Thanks man :thumb:

I practice really hard and try to get this sweeping stuff down.

clairvoyant 08-22-2005 12:24 AM

Anyone got any audio (or video! yea right...) from the Youthanasia tour? I cant find anything except a few tracks on the Realm Of Megadeth and Tornado Of Souls from Live Trax.

Help would be apreciated

MAthiAS 08-22-2005 12:25 AM

Sorry, none on my HD at the moment. Check Limewire though.

If you see poosh around, he's probably got some bootlegs.
I think a couple of the demo versions on CTE (Symphony of Destruction and Psychotron) are both better than the proper studio versions. Even tho I don't like psychotron that much, the demo is pretty cool. And the second solo on symphony of destruction demo version is quality (they also play it live with the second solo.)
I agree, Symphony Of Destruction is a lot better on the demo version, anyone else here like New World Order on Youthanasia?

clairvoyant 08-22-2005 11:11 AM
I agree, Symphony Of Destruction is a lot better on the demo version, anyone else here like New World Order on Youthanasia?
Yea, New World Order is a good song.

Jev 08-22-2005 12:23 PM

I'm probably late with this but yesterday i bought Back to The Start for the dvd. Has any else noticed how you can't hear Marty? I was looking forward to hearing his take on the IMDH solo but no :(

superflyjojo 08-22-2005 02:54 PM

Sorry if it has been asked but can anyone tell me what Megadeth's set list is at gigantour?

FlyingPaul_83 08-22-2005 02:55 PM

who changed the thread title?

edit: nevermind

RustedPieces 08-22-2005 02:56 PM

Megadeth setlist, Blackmail The Universe, Set The World Afire, Skin Of My Teeth, The Scorpion, Wake Up Dead, In My Darkest Hour, Die Dead Enough, She Wolf, Reckoning Day, A Tout La Monde, Trust, Angry Again, Hanger 18, Sweating Bullets, Tornado of Souls, Kick The Chair, Symphony of Destruction, Peace Sells, , Encore: Holy Wars....The Punishment Due

FlyingPaul_83 08-22-2005 02:57 PM

lets see...........this is what I knew they played in no particular order

blackmail the universe
die dead enough
the scorpion
kick the chair
In my darkest hour
A tout le monde
wake up dead
peace sells
hangar 18
tornado of souls
holy wars
symphony of destruction
sweating bullets
skin o my teeth
angry again

this is what I think they played:
hook in mouth or 99 ways to die (the intro sounds the same so I'm not sure)
a song from KIMB

I was suprised that they played a lot of stuff from TSHF, I liked it a lot. I thought they would play mostly old stuff.

Jev 08-22-2005 03:14 PM

That rules in comparison with the Download one:
In no order:
BTU
Scorpion
Holy Wars
Set The World Afire (Or Reckoning Day)
Die, Dead Enough (i think)
She-Wolf
IMDH
Skin O' My Teeth
Wake up Dead
Trust

denboy 08-22-2005 03:19 PM

I love the TSHF songs live

FlyingPaul_83 08-22-2005 03:28 PM
I love the TSHF songs live
hell yes they do

black mail the universe + Pyro =

Father_Jack 08-22-2005 03:32 PM

Does anyone have any good quality live recordings of the TSHF songs?

RustedPieces 08-22-2005 03:52 PM

I have a video of 'Of Mice and Men', but that's about it.

I have a bootleg from 1995-05-22 in Osaka, Japan, and I also have a DVDR of them live in Chile sometime in '95 as well as a few misc TV appearences after Youth was released as well as Night of the Living Megadeth, which was an MTV special that was done on Halloween night 94, which I believe is when Youth was released. The Osaka bootleg is 121MB and the DVDR is..well...4.4GB. I could encode it to 700MB XviD but it'd take ~6 hours to upload.

FlyingPaul_83 08-23-2005 09:30 PM

I am disgusted by the re-recorded Five magics. It is pure disgust. The originl version was 100000000000 times better.

its bad? dang, havent herd it yet but that was the song i was looking most forward to on rust in peice.

the first ever megadeth album i eva listend to was cryptic writings. im a major megadeth fan now about 7 years later and i just went back and listend to it again and i think thats one of the more underrated megadeth albums. its not as thrashy as the typical megadeth but surly not a bad album

opinions?

FlyingPaul_83 08-23-2005 09:42 PM

I like cryptic writings. It's a good solid album.

I'll upload five magics for you.

This is probably idiotic, but can someone give me the intro tab to holy wars? There are so many different versions, and I don't know which was is right.

whatduffhuck7 08-23-2005 09:47 PM

wow if you would upload that for me i would greatly appreciate that.

DJ69 08-23-2005 09:49 PM

I just got Megadeth's Greatest Hits, and i have come to the conclusion that they are possibly the MOSTunderrated band EVER.

Lucr3tia 08-23-2005 09:51 PM

I have their whole discography including the demo and Rude Awakening CDs.

thankfully, i have the original.

By the way, i think KIMB is one of the most underrated albums, the remastered version is amazing, Gars drumming is deadly

Testament and Kreator aren't really underrated either. If anything, Testament are overrated.

FlyingPaul_83 08-23-2005 09:57 PM

yesh I have the original aswell, my favorite song ever invented by anyone.

i never hear anything about them except online. on tv, radio or anything else i hear nothing. i did see one testament video though on tv. the was a treat.

Five Magics 08-23-2005 10:08 PM

"Lucretia" is one of the underrated songs from Rust, but it's great of course. Funniest part of "Victory", is when Dave mentions "Lucretia" you hear the little laugh

Yeah, they've been called underrated too many times to be called underrated anymore.

Victory is such a good song, I love all the references to the other songs.
