I think he means that although Manowar are **** (in his opinion) The Haunted make them look like Judas Priest (indicating tons of ****ness on The Haunteds part).
You must listen to Seven Churches, yes. MUST!
But what if you think Judas Priest suck as much as Manowar? DisposableHeroes: I've heard great things about them, but always been to lazy to check 'em out |
its good stuff too, with some humour invloved. I have Speak English Or Die on vinyl, its a shame they arent together
|
I just finished watching the Live Kreation DVD I got for my b-day. man it was like forever!
I was like "Man when is this going to end?!?" (The history wasn't too exhilirating, but I liked it. The guy who was doing the narrarrations was just boring. Then the guys would talk in German and I was like "o.o;" I was so lost. If they actually took the time to interview the memembers like how they do it for Behind the Music, then I would've been focused. The cool thing about the DVD is the concert films. South Korea had some pretty die hard Kreator fans. Even the chicks loved it! It was my first time actually seeing another country who I have never heard of liking a thrash metal band. Oh yeah, and Eric Peterson was on the DVD too! haha that guy just cracks me up. He was doing his "Black Metal Vocals" when he was talking about Kreator. There was a chick with him but I was like "I wonder who she was"... It was a cool DVD though. Kreator is up there on my list of my favorite thrash bands with Testament and Slayer. I like Metallica and Megadeth, but I like Kreator and Testament a lot more. |
Eric Peterson did black metal vocals? Lol, cant be as funny as seeing him in corpsepaint
|
Eric Peterson did black metal vocals? Lol, cant be as funny as seeing him in corpsepaint
He sure did. DragonLord is his side project. You have to listen to him. It's just so odd, but when he was on the Kreator DVD when they asked him about Kreator, he was just so funny when he talked like a black metal vocalist. It was just...great! |
Hahaha, i'm sure you know them personally as assholes.
Manowar makes great music, alot of their stuff define heavy metal anthems. They may not appeal to your taste but childishly insulting them with words like gay and asshole won't get you very far. How about we talk about what we enjoy rather than bring down others opinions? :chug:
Cause arguing is more fun... All everyone ever does is taaaalk about what everyone likes! Dark Angel, Testament and Kreator can only be discussed so many times! Therefore, arguing is better...sometimes... provided someone doesn't get too out of hand and start to insult the people involved, but if they do that well, more power too them. and yes, Manowar are assholes... they have total rock star prick attitudes. They even threatened to stop playing because of a few crowd surfers last time they played here. That's just soooo metal!! |
^^

New Order kicks ***, what do you make of Pleasures Of The Flesh? I'm not too impressed really
|
POTF isn't Exodus's best, but it's still a good album. You should pick it up if you are an Exodus fan and don't already have it. Yes, The New Order does indeed kick ***, and might become my new favorite album next to all the Kreator I like. I need more Testament!!! I'll order The Legacy next.
BTW, can anyone recommend me some Destruction? |

Mayhem - Deathcrush
\m/ NP Coroner - Internal Conflicts. Speaking of Coroner, you can see my lovely Grin review here: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231510 |
I can vouch for the fact that it is indeed lovely.
|
I can vouch for the fact that it is indeed lovely.
That's some good vouching there. Good Destruction eh? I'd go with Release From Agony as their best album, but pretty much all the earlier material is great. |
...and their last 3 albums aswell. :D
Release from Agony was probably the thrashiest and yeah, probably their best. Although, you can't go past their first EP, Sentance Of Death. I think that EP defines who and what destruction are: Total Desaster is as classic as you can get and Black Mass has one of the greatest riffs ever written (that intro is totally ownage!). It's pretty much all speed metal rather than thrash, but it is top class. I love it. I think it was re-released Infernal Overkill or Eternal Devastation, so you'd get your money worth. Yeah and The Antichrist is tops too. Yeah, pretty much anything with Schmier on it. I haven't heard mid-ear Destruction but it is rumoured to be fairly average. |

anyone like classic metal? name the bands.
What M-16 like?
Its been at my this store i always visit, its the special edition with the camoflauge cover and bonus tracks, but ive been hesitent (sp) to buy it.
It's a pretty good album. Thrashy, lots of catchy riffs you can bang your head to. Not a classic, but if it's up for a decent price, i'd say pick it up. And speaking of sodom, does anyone know if a new album is in the making? they havn't made a new album since M16... THREE years, which is pretty lazy by sodom standards...? |
Yeah a new album is on the way, but no release date has been set that I know of. Yeah, like you were saying, Destruction without Schmier were average at best.
|
Hi everyone i have returned with birthday money :) so far i have bought:
Pantera - 3 Vulgar Videos DVD Anthrax - Spreading The Disease CD - for only 3.90 lol Kreator - Extreme Agression CD |

|
Extreme Agression is one of the best metal CD's of the 00's.
|
Erm, Extreme Aggression was released in the 80's not the 00's.
|

|

I'd say it was 2nd hand.
|
i think Chris said it was off amazon
|
Heh... I was thinking of Violent Revolution for some reason, which is one of the best metal CD's of the 00's. :D
|
Speaking of Kreator, I was talking to a sound engineer at TAFE today, and he was telling me all the bands he'd mixed. Some include Metallica, Slayer, Kreator, Strapping Young Lad, and Faith no More. Anyway, he told me that he mixed the Kreator gig, just after they released the CD 'with the praying mantis on the front' which is, Renewal, which means, he mixed BOTH PETROZZA AND VETTERLI!@!#@(*)$(&@$@$@$@%$#~!~!!!!~!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How incredible is that?!?!?
|
i already have spreading the disease buts its been taped from a vinyl to a cassette and sounds pretty crap but i love it so when i saw it for 3.90 i couldnt resist it, its was new not 2nd hand and off amazon
|
its a great album
|
Great album indeed....one of their more overlooked ones, which is a shame.
|
yeh i never understood why it was overlooked  its probably my 2nd favorite anthrax album.
N.P. Heathen - Open Grave i heard set me free by heathen am i right in saying its a cover? and if so who originally did it? |

Yeah, Spreading The Disease is one of my favourite anthrax cds, if not the fave. It's so cheaps because there have been lots of low quality releases of it. I picked it up for $10 AU new. Yeah, it's tops.
|
Spreading The Disease is excellent, am I the only one who thinks 'The Enemy' is one of the most under-rated songs ever, it's definatly one of my favourite Anthrax tracks anyhow.
|
yeah the enemy is good i believe the track intro to reality/belly of the beast off persistence is extremely underrated the guitar intro is superb
