The CoB guitar/keys battle: War of Razors.
What do you mean no sheet music? Almost all Bodom tabs have keyboard, and any tab is GP is also sheet music if you look 2 inches downwards.
I know that, but they never have the solos. You have to look at sheet music written for the guitar if you want the rest of the keyboard parts. |
Silent Night Bodom Night is their best IMO. :thumb:
|
I think Janne won that one.
I think Janne won that one.
Do you mean the guitar/keys battle i uploaded? |
It isn't working for me...
Ok nevermind, I've got it. I like the stuff that Janne does at the beginning. Those are some trippy sounding keyboard effects. |
Change the hxxp to http.....it's to stop yousendit blocking it.
|
I liked the last lick Janne did to put Alexi away. Also the stuff in the beginning was cool too.
|
Have you guys heard Warmen? I have Beyond Abilities...good stuff. :)

Thats what i thought, that last run was awesome. |
Well, I haven't been a COB fan for to long but I downloaded a song called "bed of razors" and absoultley loved it! I picked up a single by them called "trashed lost and strungout" and there tone/keyboards are amazing to me, and not to mention the solos, they are just like wow,oh and another thing is hate crew deathroll good enough to pick up?
|
Don't pick that one up first. It sounds least like their other stuff.
Try Hatebreeder or Follow the Reaper. |
Hells Bells, almost all the Bodom guitar pro's I have have the keyboard solo in them, what tab are you looking for?
SilentScream, if you like Bed of Razors you'll love Hatebreeder or Follow the Reaper, but if oyu loved Trashed, Lost & Strungout you'll love Hatecrew Deathroll too. |
I think Follow the Reaper is the universal starting point. It's the most "power metal" out of all Bodom's releases.
|
Hatebreeder is much more powermetal than Follow the Reaper. It has classical influence in pretty much every song, and uses more leads.
|
They both have classical, Hatebreeder probably more. But I think Follow the Reaper has more leads and solos than Hatebreeder.
|
I have In Your Face and Oops I Did It Again now. In Your Face is pretty nifty. It's starts with a DunDunDun DunDunDun type thing. Then an industrial drumbeat almost. Then a 1 second pause, and Alexi goes "GO", and a Hatebreeder/Downfall type keyboard riff comes in, and under that is a guitar pattern that reminds me of the good ol FTR days. Then out of nowhere comes this Black Label Society/Shadows Fall type riff and the verse reminds me of Slayer, at least the drumbeat, because it's like shuffled, breakneck tempo. They're drifting more and more away from melody and more into industrial me thinks.

I think Towards Dead End takes the cake for powermetal songs Bodom has done. |

I can't even think of what that song sounds like off the top of my head so I couldn't tell you. |
Can anybody around here do a really good death metal growl?
Yes. I'm going to type up a small article on metal vocals and how to practice/improve them sometime this weekend. I'll post it in here. |
I would really, really appreciate that. I've been trying to do death metal growling for a very long time with no success, and I could really use it. Most of the music I'd like to write uses a lot of growling and right now I'm working on a death metal cover.
I love you. |
Can you list a few vocalists that you really like, growl wise?
|
Growl wise my favorites would have to be...
Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) Muhammid Suicmez (Necrophagist) Sven de Caluwé (Aborted) I can do a passable Phlegton (Wormed) growl, but that's easy. I really wish I could do a serious growl. Mikael Akerfeldt is probably my favorite. |

Alright, i'll try my best to get you guys covered.
|
Thanks. I really appreciate any help you could give me with this.

You know, with Leah gone, I may overtake her as highest poster in this thread.
I love you TSASI. |
I'm not interested in learning how to do harsh vocals cause my band won't let me.
