I'm seeing the same show in 6 hours, with Reel Big Fish being the headliner.
I'm really excited, cause its the first time I get to see Streetlight!!!! |

I am down to see the planet smashers any day.
|
I saw Streetlight last night.
A local band started out and they were pretty good. Then Streetlight came on and they were absolutely awesome! The set list as far as I remember: We Will Fall Together Would You Be Impressed Point/Counterpoint Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe Here's to Life Whatch It Crash Everything Numb Somewhere In The Between The venue is absolutely awesome, and it's a pretty small place, which meant it was no problem to come up front. Then Reel Big Fish went on. That was what most of the crowd came to see. I thought it was allright. They're definitely a good live band, but the music it self is a bit overrated IMO. I took home halfway trough RBF cause I was drunk an tired. I didn't get to hear Beer og S.R in many versions but besides that it was an awesome night! I got to talk to the new trombone player, which was pretty cool. Hope they'll return someday. |
So, i just listened to Everything Went Numb and Streetlight Manifesto for the first time...
****ing badassery. Great album, especially for first impressions. A solid 4 on the review site. I'll have to give Somewhere in the Between a spin too. Any recommendations too? I've never really gotten into punk yet other than Streetlight, The Clash, and At the Drive-In (if you count them) |
Next step for you is Catch 22's Keasbey Nights. I personally like it more than EGN, but I have found myself in the minority on this issue. Regardless, it's a great album.

original Keasbey Nights slays Everything Goes Numb in my opinion. |
Saw Streetlight Manifesto together with Reel Big Fish and Sonic Boom Six yesterday in Oslo, really good. SM was by far the best band, as expected.

I'm going to the Seattle show for sure. How fast you think it'll sell out?
|
i saw them the other day and they actually played a few songs i knew (i thought they were gonna play a lot more from the newest album which i don't have). they played here's to life, we are the few, silence/violence. awesome. i'm seeing them again tomorrow.
|
You seriously need to get the new album then! It has grown on me more than I thought it would and I really really love it now.
Especially "the Receiving End Of It All"! That song might be the best song Tomas has written maybe along with "Here's To Life". |
my dad has the album and played it to me when i went to visit him the other day. but the wanker didn't copy me one. i've just realised someone said up there that they saw sonic boom six on the tour in europe, that's so cool i thought they were just doing the uk leg. they played in japan a couple weeks ago too, and are going to america in a week or two. good on them!
|
Sweet, I get to see SB6 April 2.
Though I don't really like Arcade Perfect. |
hehe, i was chatting to barney about that the other day. i couldn't believe they are going to america...wow. he is quite excited. apparently they're playing django's clubnight in ny! and django loves them haha. anyway they've gone quite a lot more into the drum n bass stuff live now, and i think they are as good as i've ever seen them, probably the best i've seen them as the dance music infusion just psychs you up and makes it impossible not to dance :) hope you enjoy them, kith, lemme know what you think!
|
My friend and I bought tickets, now we're hoping like hell to find a ride.
|
hey guys, thought id start posting in here...
loving streetlight, saw em on saturday with SB6 and RBF. blew me away tbh, i'd seen the other 2 bands before, and knew they were pretty awesome, but streetlight... my god... i've been loving them for the best part of 2 years now, and their music carries some real "emotional baggage" for me, especially egn. |
oh man, that was at concorde yeah? gutted i didn't make it to that show, it was probably the best venue of the tour. i can't believe they played concorde one night, then astoria the next. unfortunately, on saturday night i was dressed as a grunger for my teacher's book launch party
|
oh man, i cant describe how good the vibe was there. was just immense... second only to the king Blues on tuesday for vibe, after we all got up on stage and danced.
tbh, if the gigs of last week were all i had all year, i'd be happy. theyre not so eeeeeeeeeeeeee :) |
ah cool, was the king blues show part of the anti-flag tour? how was it?
i didn't make it out to those shows. the only one i considered going to was the 100 club, as my housemate offered me a ticket last minute as she had to work, but i went to my mate's exhibition instead haha. i like king blues, but i've seen them before, and i'm not that keen on anti-flag |
kb was part of anti flag, yea.
it was alright, hadnt heard anti flag before, wasnt overly bowled away. tbh, i kinda got too friendly with the bar just before their set, so i wasnt in best mind to judge. the kb set was one of the best i've seen em play. |

I plan on calling out babyboom songs. Do they know who they'll be playing with yet? |
well from what i heard, some of the dates were with big d - as they're bringing them over here soon after. i'm not sure if all the dates were, but i'm pretty sure they are starting in boston so yeah...
|
i have all the uk tour dates on my floor...

us dates at http://www.myspace.com/sonicboomsix
|
Yeah, but that doesn't have who they're playing with.
I know they're playing some dates with the Flaming Tsunamis (Like the Mass. dates), and they're not playing with Big D over here. But TFS aren't playing the Baltimore date. It would be fine with me if they're doing the Baltimore date solo. |
