True.. but I've seen some stinkin hot 15 yr olds around the highschools.

So go outside. Go! Fetch!

Anarchy&Peace 08-10-2005 08:23 PM

Ok, I didn’t want to make a new thread so I’ll just ask here.

I’ve gotten pretty good at soloing in swing time but I want learn a few new things about soloing outside of triplets and such. Most of the time I listen to drummers (krupa/rich/hampton) and try to copy what they do but I cant grasp what they play due to the speed most of it sounds like drags, flams and rolls. Anyone wanna give me some tips on big band/swing soloing?
stinkin hot 15 yr olds around the highschools.
you have no idea how hard it is man...no idea

Win A Rabbit 08-10-2005 08:30 PM

well in the last 2 days i forked out a nice $600. here's what i bought:

20" a medium ride
metronome
carter beauford : under the table and drumming (vhs)
stick control
3 pairs of sticks

ibanez guitar
guitar strap
guitar picks

me and my friends went to every guitar shop in the city, it was a good 2 days

oh, and we went and saw shark boy and lava girl at the cheap theaters. oh dear. i thought maybe the 3-d would be worth my $2, but there was only about 15 collective seconds where it was worth labelling the movie as 3-d. they could have saved themselves alot of time by just making a regular movie, as the 3-d was generally bland, and added nothing to the movie.

and today i had to wait in line for 8 minutes for a crunchwrap supreme combo, which by the way was terrible, so they gave me 2 "empinadas" or something for free. they were also terrible. well now i'm heading out right away for a fire i think.

Futuro 08-10-2005 08:33 PM

what model ibanez did you get?

Win A Rabbit 08-10-2005 08:38 PM

i got the gax70 left handed. i had tried otu the right handed version and loved it, then they got the guitar in today and i had to get it. there's never any good left handed guitars in any shop, so when one came around that i liked, i had to pick it up. i just owe my friends a total of $500  but i have a $450 paycheck coming in.

Futuro 08-10-2005 08:46 PM

Ya I know me too.... but i'm 14 though :upset:

People have said I look 15 and some said even 16.... Fetching time :naughty:

Josiah 08-11-2005 12:48 AM

It's all in how you let them percieve you.. walk tall, talk slow and steady, maintain eye contact.. etc

rockindrummer 08-11-2005 12:53 AM

^ Ya if you talk either fast or unsteady then you seem nervous which makes you seem either younger or inexperienced, neither of those are wanted.

You can't just stare at the person though, otherwise they might get a little freaked out, you have to maintaineye contact but not constantly look around and other things too.

Haha, I love looking at little kids directly in their eyes. It is so funny, I stabbed myself in my eye when I was 2, now my eye wanders off and it dialated(sp?) all the time. So I've got one brown eye and one black eye with a go-t and dreads....No wonder kids are scared of me, hahaha.

But I usually try not look at chicks in the eyes, they always look behind them, that gets annoying after a while.

rockindrummer 08-11-2005 01:16 AM

^ Hahaha that's so funny, scaring little kids is fun  lol

Double Bass Jim 08-11-2005 01:17 AM

Eye contact is a sign of strength and self confidence.

Osiris X 08-11-2005 01:19 AM

Haha, about a month ago I was chillen over at Celebration Station with some friends (it was $5 gocarts all day, we thought what the hell). It took us a 2 hours to ride it one time because of the line, but the little girl that was standing next to us, looked at my friend, then looked at me....I opened up my eyes, put my eyebrows done. I swear, it was like she saw a serial killer. She just stared at me while trying to find her mothers leg to hold on to. I gues she figured if she looked away I would kill her or something, pretty funny, to me atleast.
Eye contact is a sign of strength and self confidence.
Thanks for that Jim!

Josiah 08-11-2005 01:54 AM

Never be the one to break eye contact with a girl. EVER.

Double Bass Jim 08-11-2005 01:54 AM

Can you hear the silver?

Plan B. 08-11-2005 01:56 AM

And if you do happen to break the contact, pretend to go in for a handshake but grab her tit for good measure.

Josiah 08-11-2005 01:57 AM
