There's a 'scene' everywhere, you just have to look for it.
Or be it. Haha. In my town i'm fairly sure that i'm the only one who listens to hardcore and emo. |

You are wrong. South eastern Kentucky has NO emo or hardcore scene. I want to play either one but no othe rmusicians around here even know what they are. I have been slowly educating some of my friends, but none of them like screamo/emo but a few are into hardcore a little. |

I am too :upset: |
Maybe among your friends you are.

I guess it's possible for someone to be into emo/hardcore, but they aren't open or active about it. I literally know everyone from ages 15-25 that play "rock" music around here. This is a small place with really nothing in it besides some Wal-Marts and gas stations. There may be a scene in Knoxville though, which is about an hour and a half drive from here, but I think that is my only chance. |
Knoxville!! The Red Scare were from Knoxville!
But yeah, that sucks. |
Anyone know where I can buy a Q And Not U shirt?
Knoxville!! The Red Scare were from Knoxville!
But yeah, that sucks.
The Red Scare! They're amazing. Anyone know of some Canadian emo scene? I'm guessing there must be something in the Toronto region... (which is 6 hours away from here  ) The "big" city in my region is Montreal, I'm 30 mins away. I'll have to dig up the local bands and see. |
Halifax has a good hardcore scene.
Risky business Look Back Make It Count The Hold Oh God ect. But no emo... There's crust bands, math rock bands, metalcore bands, indie bands, post hardcore bands... there's like three noisecore bands even... I'm starting an emo band with some freinds soon, it's gonna be really tight. |
I'm going to have to visit Knoxville soon...
I live literally ten minutes from Knoxville. The scene is not very good in terms of emo as in real emo. Otherwise there are some good metalcore and hardcore bands and one really good spazz band. I wish I knew the Red Scare were from my area. |

Seriously? Could you give me a few names and possibly some venues to check out that regularly play metalcore/hardcore? I don't want to burden you, I just desperately need some culture and there is none in my local area, rofl. |
This is Renaissance and Fall of the Fatalist are best. Old City Java usually have metalcore shows. Don't be expecting a thriving scene of emo and screamo though me and like two friends are the only ones who listen to emo primarily.
|
Dude how far have you driven to see a show? I have driven out to Philadelphia to see Pig Destroyer and I live nearer to Georgia than I do Kentucky, so its about I don't know far as all hell.
|
I've got to drive about an hour to every show.
|
An hour? Thats what I got to drive minimum for a good show since only local bands primarily in Knoxville.
the philly show took me through three states to get there and i had to be back in town next morning. |
I applaud your efforts. I live in a red state however and no great national bands have graced us with their presence.
|
dfelon should drive from williams to see us cover draculacore.
|
I'm in California right now. I go back to school on the 4th.
we arent playing til mid-november, so its all good. |
i regularly drive like 250 miles one way to shows. racked up about 4k miles going to shows just this summer.
|
whoa. new fall of troy is cool.
This is true. I'm really getting into these guys now, and I hope to go see them with FBTMOF in the fall. |
Me too. But it's the same night as Thrice unless we go to Boston. I'm confused.
For me, it would be the same night as Saves the Day, unless I choose to go to see Saves the Day in Toronto, in which case I could go to both. |
Hot Cross is playing like two shows with Fall of Troy.
|
I like Thrice, and Underoath, and Norma Jean, and Emery, and Mae.
|
I like Thrice, and Underoath, and Norma Jean, and Emery, and Mae.
Um, awesome. So do I. But none of those bands are emo. They are still awesome though. |
Dude. I've driven farther distances for shows than your whole state. Louisville definitely has hardcore bands and if you're way in the southeast then you aren't far from DC. Suck it up.
I've just recently became a fan of hardcore so I never really searched around up there. That is about one and a half to two hours from me. Are there any sites that could help me find bands and venues in specific areas? I want to checkout the Louisville and Knoxville scenes mainly. |
Dude I knew this Louisville band. It's something on Level Plane like anodyne. Lemme check.
I didn't really understand that part, lol. |
Level Plane is a label.
