My favorites from a rise to power are Traumatised, lost in the light, stormchaser, and life is black.

Currently the faves off one step beyond are against the wind, tarranno del mar and under the cross

Lord Tim 10-26-2005 03:26 PM

Yeah, the LORD site is about a week away from a complete and total overhaul (it'll basically be a almost a mirror image of the current Dungeon site) and it'll be containing actual current information *gasp* :p

Riva 10-26-2005 10:35 PM
I wonder why
Not that there's anything wrong with that. Heh. I do have 4 album by them, you know.
I don't mind people trading one or 2 songs to give someone a feel for what we do, so go nuts. Whole albums on the other hand... well, that's why I'm eating 2 minute noodles instead of steak every night! ;)

For songs, I suggest these from One Step Beyond: "Against The Wind", "Tarranno Del Mar", "The Hunger" or "One Step Beyond"

For over the top ness (is that a word?), try these from A Rise To Power "Lost In The Light" or "Traumatised"

For good heavy metal, try "Resurrection" or "The Legend Of Huma" from the Resurrection (2005) album.

And for some fun, see if you can find "Insanity's Fall" from the Under The Rising Sun live album (it comes as the bonus disc on the latest Resurrection album limited edition through LMP).

That should keep you busy! :)

And if you get bored, look up some songs from "A Personal Journey" by LORD.
Oh pfft, what would you know about Dungeon. :p

How's LORD working out, anyway?

---------
Anyone pre-ordered Galloglass' new album, besides me?

I'm on such a Manowar binge right now.

I sleep with the singer! ;)
How's LORD working out, anyway?
Pretty good! *warning - blatant spam ahead!!* A Personal Journey will be re-released in a couple of weeks Australia wide and rehearsals with the new band are going great. First show is planned for Feb. 2006, so here's hoping we don't suck, hey? HAHA!

RideTheSpiral 10-27-2005 02:02 AM

I'm sure it will be great. Hopefully you guys make it down to Adelaide. *hint*

I'll be all like "hey Tim I made a thread on the internet!"

Disclaimer: I won't say that

Lord Tim 10-27-2005 03:37 AM

HAHAHAHAHA!

*gives you a wedgie in advance* :p

Yeah, tour up north also. Don't just stop at Brisbane. There's plenty of metalheads in Townsville and Cairns. \m/

Stoic 10-27-2005 03:47 AM
Stoic, give the following a try

Life Is Black (Best. Guitar Tone. Ever.)
A Rise To Power
Wake Up
Severed Ties
Netherlife (Black Roses Die)
Lost In The Light
So part one of checking Dungeon! :p

I've been able to find and download most of these songs and I have to say that I still find them quite old school heavy/power yet highly evolved for the standards of such a narrowed (in my opinion always) style. Dungeon I believe are the definition of traditional metal played by a modern band and they certainly have the potential to grow on me! Netherlife (Black Roses Die) is my new favourite song. Superb lead guitar work!

/checks Lord Tim's recommendations

Iron Bars 10-27-2005 04:33 AM

Gave a friend of mine a couple of songs off of a Rise to Power and I think I've made a new fan with it.

What LT said, try Traumatised from Rise to Power.

Stoic 10-27-2005 04:54 AM

 it seems I have to try the entire Rise to Power album. Dont worry Tim, I wont take that steak away from you, I'll see if I can find the album first :p

Lord Tim 10-27-2005 06:18 AM

HAHA! Well, as a certain warez group says, "try before you buy" - if you do download the entire album and you decide you like it enough and go out and buy it, then all is good! :)

I have a whole Dungeon album that i didn't buy but i will buy it, just like i will by Dragonforce's next album

Stoic 10-28-2005 09:27 AM

I've heard some discouraging comments about the new dragonforce :(

shadow_stalker 10-28-2005 09:29 AM

I've heard the album and can say with complete confidence that it kicks arse:thumb:

Ooh christmas sales start soon you know what that means, i can afford to by more things for my drumkit without spending too much (i think a cowbell will be first)

Ok i have pre-orderd Galloglass' next album (its limited edition with a dvd:thumb: )

Lord Tim 10-28-2005 09:59 AM

LMP are really getting into the whole album bundled with DVD thing, hey?

I can't say I've always seen eye to eye with Limb but they sure know how to package a product! :)

I must check out Galloglass sometime, actually...

paranoid923 10-28-2005 10:15 AM

Woot I just convinced my parents to let me see Sonata Arctica at BB Kings :D Has anyone here seen them live? If so how are they?

Edit: I think Into Eternity is the opener!

Iron Bars 10-28-2005 11:51 AM
I've heard some discouraging comments about the new dragonforce :(
I'm now listening to the first track and it actually sound pretty good.

Shattered_Future 10-28-2005 01:09 PM

The new Dragonforce is more of the same...however, their one trick is quite good.

No points for originality, but they expanded on their old technique and made it even more crazy.

Woooot, Sonata at B.B. Kings! Can't wait. :D

Brew 10-28-2005 02:02 PM

I really want to see Sonata Arctica, I came so close a few months ago but couldn't afford it :(

Lord Abortion 10-29-2005 05:07 AM

I personally love the new 'force album, it's awesome...

Attn: Uk people.

So, I want to order from the Nuclear Blast online shop, but am unsure about the whole ''send us a photocopy of yo credit card beehatches!'' business.

I need to convince my parents its safe etc...if anyone has ordered from them in the past, can they confirm it for me please?

Cheers :)

Yes mate, I have. Don't worry 'bout the card business - it's purely to prove that you actually have the card in your possession and haven't skanked the number off somebody elses.
After the first time you don't have to do it again.
You'll also be on their mailing list, and get cool offers and a Metal magazine thingy sent to you. Great for practising German!
Go forth and order, young man - and worry ye not. :thumb:

Don't worry. It's an excellent album. They just didn't really advance much is all. It's still got me hooked like all Dragonforce. I plan on buying it about the day it comes out haha.

Lord Tim made Dungeon grab my attention. I shall check them out for sure.

My Dad signed up to their mailing list not so long ago and they sent 2 copies of the same magazine, the pictures are fun to look at seeing as I've not done German for about 3 years...

Do I just scan the front of the card and email them the picture with my order?

I don't know about the scanning thing - I just photocopied mine and faxed it over when I was at work, together with my name, order details etc.
The order came really quick as well, and was preceded by a nice email from a hot-sounding german chick.
Bonus.:D

Hehe, cool.

I'll get it sorted tomorrow, thanks for the useful answers :)

Stoic 10-30-2005 05:45 AM

So guys, let's liven up the thread with a little whoring. Grave Digger, a well known band that's been around for years but its not discussed often here. Do you like late Blind Guardian (especially NIME but with less layers) and Sabaton? Ask Stoic to send you a song off Grave Digger's Rheingold :D
