Does anyone plan to actually make an offical final list? Or is this just posting random good albums?

Neil Young- freedom <---- put it in you canada hating bastards
Hey it's gonna take time, and don't lay all this work on me.

Okay, everyone think what should be number 1. Choose four that are eligable in your opinion.

The Beatles - Sgt. Peppers
The Beatles - The White Album
The Who - Tommy
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

Badmoon 08-13-2004 09:03 PM
There is no line. Rock is a flexible genre.
Yes, but this is Classic Rock. And Jazz isn't Rock.

themightyquinn23 08-13-2004 09:04 PM

The White Album-The Beatles
Pet Sounds-The Beach Boys
Electric Ladyland-Jimi Hendrix Experience
Abbey Road-The Beatles
Yes, but this is Classic Rock. And Jazz isn't Rock.
What exactly is rock? There can be many definitions. Jazz/rock IS rock. You can even mix in other kinds of music like soul, blues, or in your case, folk. So by your definition, some of your favorite bands are not rock.

Badmoon 08-13-2004 09:10 PM

All of my favorite bands I listed are Rock. That's what they play even if they mix a different genre. Miles Davis - Bitches Brew is Jazz. Not Rock, not Classic Rock. There is no argument.

themightyquinn23 08-13-2004 09:12 PM

So it's more jazz than it is rock. But it's close enough, it gets a vote from me.

Badmoon 08-13-2004 09:16 PM

IT's A CLASSIC ROCK THREAD!!! NOT A JAZZ THREAD!! THIS IS A CLASSIC ROCK LIST!!! NOT A JAZZ LIST!!!!

I'm not going to ask for The Red Hot Chili Peppers - Mother's Milk to be in, because it's not Classic Rock. If it's not Classic Rock it's not on the list.

BludgeonySteve 08-13-2004 09:17 PM

Electric Ladyland
Sgt peppers
Zeppelin 4 ( not my favorite but it's the best choice for a best album)
Eat a peach

It's fairly old. I like it. You could put it on the list if you want.

Badmoon 08-13-2004 09:21 PM
That's funk, not rock
You actually believe RHCP are completely based on Funk?

I recommend you go through there catologue. And it's irrelevant, because as I said...IT's NOT CLASSIC ROCK.
It's fairly old
It's not about age. I would suspect you would know that.

themightyquinn23 08-13-2004 09:27 PM

The White Album should probably be #1. It looks like the most popular.

BludgeonySteve 08-13-2004 09:28 PM

Well yeah... Now that I think about it again RHCP aren't really the classic rock style of playing. Even though it's older than some classic rock.

Fine

Badmoon 08-13-2004 09:34 PM

The Esoteric 08-13-2004 10:00 PM
