I had my first guitar class today. I'm gonna be learning "Wake Me Up When September Ends." Fun

np: Pink Moon. I've having a Nick Drake listening session. Always mellows me out after a stressful day.
If I could pick one song on guitar, and learn how to play it perfectly every time, it would be From the Morning off of that album. It's the most upliftingly complex and intricately finger-picked melody imaginable. I think that it is the best album closer.

Cool new usertitle Jon.
Nooo, they shut down the YSI threads.

:(
This will have to be our thuper thecret YSI Thread

I guess in the past half hour MX has killed YSI and put on extra ads :(

EDIT: That is a great usertitle, it sounds good without the music, unlike some lyrics

EDITEDIT: Good luck with that, thick

For some reason, I haven't downloaded or uploaded anything in the YSI threads for a few weeks. I was just about to start participating in them again :upset:

The new adds are really annoying.

I don't really blame him though, the server must cost alot. What if he dicided to pull the plug on all of us

That makes him a bit like god, dosn't it?

Driver's test tomorrow :upset:

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-07-2005 06:15 PM

Bull****! Why the hell did he shut them down?!
Bull****! Why the hell did he shut them down?!
Because if he was caught with mass file sharing going on out in the open on his forums he'd be in deep shit.

ATM 09-07-2005 06:18 PM

I'm not too worried about it. I always hated when I would look at the list of all the forums, and in about 4 or so of the sections, the YSI thread would be the last thing posted in.

MBS 09-07-2005 06:18 PM

He says that we might get in trouble because it's illegal. There's a thread about it in the site forum.

These ads really suck too. :(

jpj 09-07-2005 06:20 PM

I haven't even noticed the new ads...

Walrus Gumboot 09-07-2005 06:22 PM

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387074

We could still do it in this thread, if we avoid the term YSI or Yousendit and use "upload" instead so they can't search it
Or e-mailing/IMing the links is a possibility

Such a mightly empire has fallen :(

Jacaranda 09-07-2005 06:23 PM

New ads? I thought everyone had Firefox Adblocker by now.

thickasabrick 09-07-2005 06:24 PM

I'm just mad because for the past few months I haven't been able to download songs on my computer using all those various mp3 things (soulseek, ares etc) so I've basically been living off those YSI threads. I miss them already.

ATM 09-07-2005 06:25 PM

Funkadelic/Parliament show on Oct 2nd! Sweet!

Walrus Gumboot 09-07-2005 06:26 PM

Who need's guitar scales?

I need's them

MBS 09-07-2005 06:26 PM

Not pop-up ads, they appear on the top of the page.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-07-2005 06:26 PM

I know I just saw it but I guess it's not worth the risk of MX geting closed down for.

We'll still use YSI but **** I got alot of albums in those threads I mean I haven't used SoulSeek in ages because using those YSI threads makes it easy to find music.

Robert Randolph/Santana show on Oct 2nd! Sweet! :D

PinkFreud 09-07-2005 06:48 PM

yeah, the thing about them is that it was a great way to get music that you just wanted to check out or wouldnt normally try out. now i actually have to decide what i want.

Glitterati 09-07-2005 06:52 PM

The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars is a pretty incredible album, if you ask me.

/just put it on

magicbus 09-07-2005 07:02 PM

Wow. That is really ****ing gay.

I guess we can still trade albums in here, amongst ourselves.

angusmaster 09-07-2005 07:07 PM

I never did YSI anyways ( because of my computer ) so it dont bother me any,but i feel sorry for all of you,yea those pop ups are annoying.

jpj 09-07-2005 07:09 PM

I never get pop ups ever. You guys suck.

JonG 09-07-2005 07:21 PM

Me neither.

Do you have AIM? We could do a big AIM trade chat or something.

I'm in for that. AIM- robo2448.

And I've got Google and Aol toolbars and pop-up blockers. I pwn all you.
/unnecessary double pop-up blocker

BB King is cool. Live At the Regal is really good.

Jam2Me 09-07-2005 07:47 PM

Someone should just make a new mini forum dedicated completely to YSI sharing. The whole YSI thing was a really good idea.

Does anyone have XM Radio? I think that is a terrible waste of money. My gym has it and the classic rock station sucks.

JonG 09-07-2005 08:03 PM

Yeah. If you guys Soulseek or not I got an MX Tabs channel made.

If not:

My screename is eyebanezj3m

Lunch 09-07-2005 08:07 PM

I think it's really annoying that Cream priced their tickets so high. Why do they want to exlclude so many of their fans who aren't rich?

The only shows I would be $500+ for would be seeing the Who in 1970, Zeppelin in 1970, Cream in 1968, and maybe the Dead in '69 or '72.

magicbus 09-07-2005 08:07 PM

I'm using soulseek right now actually. First time in a while.

BigTrav415 09-07-2005 08:10 PM

Why did they close the YSI threads? They've been going on a nazi-mod style closing spree all over mX, often for no reason, like the MX-UFO Society thread in the Pit :upset:

magicbus 09-07-2005 08:13 PM
Why did they close the YSI threads? They've been going on a nazi-mod style closing spree all over mX, often for no reason, like the MX-UFO Society thread in the Pit :upset:
Yea but the YSI could get MX involved in legal trouble, and maybe get it shut down completely. As for the alien stuff, I don't know what's up with that.

Lunch 09-07-2005 08:14 PM

Yea I just read the thread about the possibility of MX getting shutdown because of all the uploaded music. Guess we're back to good old AIM trading.

BigTrav415 09-07-2005 08:15 PM

One word guys; MegaUpload. Well, I guess that's two... or one? It's a compound noun... but still... I no hablo ingles muy good I guess :upset:

JonG 09-07-2005 08:31 PM
I'm using soulseek right now actually. First time in a while.
Join the MX Tabs channel :)

magicbus 09-07-2005 08:48 PM

I think I'm in it. Not sure though.

Illmatic 09-07-2005 09:07 PM

/has to be the only person on MX who doesn't care about the YSI threads being shut down
