It's a site where internet shut ins go because their lives suck so they post with really long drawn out sentences with needless complexity in order to sound smart/make themselves feel better about their own life. It's funny to read because people will make this really long ridiculous posts that could have been summed up with something like "my life sucks" |

yeah pretty much people try and philosophize and stuff and most of it is just lol.
|
There's some pretty good discussion about metal on their forums, though there's also a hell of alot of overintellectualization. The DLA review site is pretty meh though.
the "main" site has nothing to do with metal and has some really good philosophy articles tbh |
The reviews are really lol
|
some of them are really good but most of them are just wordy for the sake of it and don't really say much of anything
|
The rhythms are simple percussive matrices underlying simple phrase beats played in the cutting distortion of the guitar, the combination of percussion and duration that reveals the components of each note and chord simultaneously. With a flexible strumming technique that smears a distorted flow of notes into chords and melodies, hypnotizing with sound in the simplest components of a song that builds a mood from the ambiguity of the melodic recombinance of the musical space that emerges. Strobing, pulsing, living music radiates from these simple, definitive riffs.

this reminds me of:
The capacity of human intelligence seems to limit the capabilities to expand upon any possible creative aptitudes. Indeed, if one cannot even notice the facets that the ingenuities around him are comprised of, how can he be expected to fashion a beast of his own? This inveterate sense of constraint is a great blow to the veracity of mankind’s abilities. It restrains us and holds our minds to the ground below, averting any possibility of rising above ourselves to something greater; something not fathomed by the conventional mind. This concept of seeking to go beyond one’s self, known as “transcendence”, is essentially a gateway to unlocking pieces of ourselves that can lead to some of the most elaborate and significant creations of our world. For many, this quest to transcend and form creations that were once considered unthinkable and overwhelming consumes life. Certainly it is rare to find such people, but when they are found, creative barriers are destroyed. ilu ben ilu |
