heavy metal kid 12-15-2005 10:12 PM

Well back then it was the truth, Ozzy only had Randy Rhoads, while Metallica had...well Metallica.

Magero666 12-15-2005 10:24 PM

wait, ...that was the master of puppets tour. i thought randy died in 1982?

Yes it was, but i was talking overall, imo the only good thing in Ozzy's solo work it was Randy Rhoads.

I know it doesn't look like i was talking overall, but i think this clears my comment.

Umm so I can expect this around December 2009 in England?

iluvkirkhammett 12-16-2005 03:43 AM

New album! **Does the happy dance!** And usually they come out pretty quickly here in Australia after you American's get them, so I can expect it the week after the week of the 16th! WOOT!

Dont albums come out in Europe before North America ?

Aw3someman 12-16-2005 07:15 AM

No. We get Metallica albums b4 everyone else. Yeah!

iluvkirkhammett 12-16-2005 07:20 AM

American artists always release albums in america first, same Australian artists release their albums in Australia first, Europeans in Europe... etc.

Not normally.

ThrashMaster27 12-16-2005 07:33 AM

It depends on the record label, not the band. All Nuclear Blast artists CD's get released in Europe first.

iluvkirkhammett 12-16-2005 07:35 AM

I'm putting money away for it now, it'll come out around the same time as I have to renew my MetClub membership.

Does anyone remember who to make the check out to? I forget!

Lars Ulrich?

Aw3someman 12-16-2005 08:06 AM

haha. Just get it from Metallica.com They'll deliver it on the release date. Of course you have to pay more... so i think i'll head down to good ol' walmart

Quickdrop 12-16-2005 08:47 AM

Im not even really antipating their next album. I was mega excited for the release of St. Anger, and all i did was laugh when i listened to it. The same bar chords over and over again...

Although the reintroduction of solos does give it some hope...

iluvkirkhammett 12-16-2005 08:51 AM

If you listen to St. Anger in it's entirety, it's actually really good, and if you think that Metallica was almost no more before this album, it's good.

I have a new appreciation for it after seeing SKOM.

Stormrider 12-16-2005 08:51 AM

I would be more excited about it but theres other albums from my favorite bands next year that are coming out..So these ones go first :)

But I admit, New album or no new album from Metallica doesnt change anything for me.

I mean SKOM is the same verse and chorus looped over for almost 9 minutes. wheres the originality in that? The Unnamed Feeling was the only great song off the album.

However, i also think there were a few songs that could have sounded awesome if they were released 10 years ago. like Frantic or My World for example.

mr black 12-16-2005 10:29 AM

Personally i think the title track is the best song on that album, theres just something addictive to me about the intro, especially when the double bass drums kick in, And yeah ^ SKOM is a pretty average over lengthy song, but the intro is pretty bad a*rse :smash:

Quickdrop 12-16-2005 10:32 AM

i agree, if you watch the music video for SKOM it looks and sounds pretty damn tight. But the album version is just too drawn out and lengthy. The addition of the crowd screaming in the video probebly makes a difference in having it sound better too.

Usually the UK get them a day before because stores stock up on a Sunday instead of Monday. Except for that there isn't much difference at all.

Oh okay..I was wondering because I was reading some older stuff and it was like albums are now out in Europe and stuff.

Aw3someman 12-16-2005 11:54 AM

Actually last time st. anger was released 5 days early because of concerns over piracy. So we still got it b4 u guys

Doctor Night 12-16-2005 12:33 PM

I'm not incredibly hyped about the new one. I mean, I want it and such. But I have a horrible feeling it will be like St. Anger
