Shattered_Future 11-13-2005 03:15 PM

I put on Nattens Madrigal for 10 seconds last night, suprisingly.

The production is godawful on that album. Which is why I turned it off...I have limits on how crappy production can be.

Arucard 11-13-2005 03:17 PM

That album is a classic of metal, how can the production stop you from liking such a masterpeice?

Shattered_Future 11-13-2005 03:18 PM

When all you can hear are horribly distorted guitars and drums that sound like a chainsaw, I'd rather not listen. :thumb:

I like my music to be clear.

Shadows 11-13-2005 03:20 PM

The production is probably the worst I've ever heard. The drums are distant, the vocals are a slur of shrieking, and the guitars have enough treble to make your ears bleed. I'm into black metal, so I like all that.

Yesterday, in the car on our way to see CoB, we were listening to old Morbid Angel. I was really turned off by how bad their newer stuff was (after David Vincent) but Altars of Madness seemed like a really badass album. I'm getting that and Blessed Are the Sick right now.

Which is a shame, because I want to hear the new AAF album that cigaro posted.

Arucard 11-13-2005 04:41 PM

Right, Vintersorg better win the vocalist poll. Or Bruce.

Lord Abortion 11-13-2005 04:43 PM

I highly doubt it, some Classic rock guy will win, unless we all gang up and Vote Bruce.

I mean, Dani and Ripper are out and Ozzy and Zack De La Rapper are through...it beggars belief really...

i am the robots 11-13-2005 04:46 PM

I'm gonna steadfastly push Akerfeldt and Garm.

Lord Abortion 11-13-2005 04:57 PM

I am amused by Garm's DJ name "Trickster G"

hahaha

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-13-2005 04:57 PM

I'm gonna vote for Garm all the way through. Hopefully he'll at least get to Round III.

Joe- I only wish Vintersorg could get the amount of credit and support he deserves, but my guess is that he'll be out in the first round, which is unfortunate, as he kicks arse. I'll vote for him though. :righteous:

Ollie- *De La Rocha...Oh, wait. :p

King Diamond all the fucking way.

Lord Abortion 11-13-2005 05:30 PM

I will vote for King D. But there are people I hold in higher regard than him.
He is awesome though...

Shadows 11-13-2005 05:43 PM

I'm not attached to any particular guy. I'll vote for whoever I like best on each poll.

Unfortunately, King Diamond does not fall into that catergory for me.

Toaster 11-13-2005 05:48 PM

It's pretty sick how Josh Homme is beating Devin Townsend and Dani Filth.

Edit: Sick in a bad way.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-13-2005 05:51 PM

King Diamond will be my first preference all the way, then Halford, then probably Dickinson.

I wish John Tardy made it through :upset:
I'm not attached to any particular guy. I'll vote for whoever I like best on each poll.

I'm the same way, on both accounts. Out of the guys who have the best chance to win, though, I'd vote for Mike Patton or MJK.

This isn't including Freddie Mercury, of course.

Arucard 11-13-2005 06:23 PM

I don't see whats so good about Mercury, a lot of Power Metal singers have much larger ranges than him.

PinkFreud 11-13-2005 06:27 PM

and a lot of them have same or better power, but mercury was incredibly versatile and unique.

im quite disappointed with the number of votes for de la rocha. he cant sing and he cant rap. i find that his voice just irritates me.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-13-2005 06:31 PM

Freud- Just because his voice irritates you doesn't mean he can't rap. That would be like me saying "Jeff Beck can't play guitar because I think his tone sucks."

EDIT: I'm not by any means saying he can't play, or that he has crappy tone. I love Jeff Beck, but I was just using him as an example that I know you could relate to. :)

Apocalyptic Raids 11-13-2005 06:31 PM

I like his voice alot, and RATM are one of my favourite bands, but I figured he would get enough votes.

There are others I prefer though.

Lord Abortion 11-13-2005 06:33 PM
I don't see whats so good about Mercury, a lot of Power Metal singers have much larger ranges than him.
Yeah, so do Bruce, King Diamond, Dani Filth and others outside PM.

For those who don't do maths, Range=Distance between the two ends of a statistic, in this case vocals

NP-Rush-Freewill

blue3 11-13-2005 06:48 PM

I like Zach De La Rocha.. I voted for Lennon though.

My main computer crashed today. :upset:

Arrakakaka 11-13-2005 07:03 PM

I'm not a fan of most of those vocalists. I would have voted Chuck, but he doesn't have a huge range. I voted Zach De La Rocha. Yes, I enjoy RATM from time to time.

Kingofdudes 11-13-2005 07:05 PM
Yes, I enjoy RATM from time to time.
But this is about singers, not the band.

Unfortunately, most people seem to vote for a band, not the singer, when they vote in the polls.
