Egads, you need to get up on your Neil Young. Here is your homework:
Rust Never Sleeps
Everybody Knows This is Nowhere
Live at Massey Hall 1971
After the Gold Rush

And for some extra weirdness, try Reactor, Trans, or Freedom.

Lemonheads 4 lyfe.

I don't know why I didn't get more Neil Young ages ago. I bought Harvest about 2 years ago and loved it immediately but didn't listen to it much for some reason. I guess the reason is that I'm an idiot. I'm on it man.

AlienEater 12-13-2007 10:19 AM

Everybody knows this is Nowhere and Tonight's the Night are pretty essential

Rivers Cuomo - Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo

This is easilly the most interesting thing Rivers has released for a long time. I'm not really sure how good it is yet, but it's certainly got interesting ideas and a cool intimacy to it. It really sounds like the product of somebody mucking around at home rather than a polished release. Probably because it is.

negrodamus 12-13-2007 07:38 PM

Is there any way you could upload that to the mailing list?

samariah 12-13-2007 08:12 PM

The Smiths - Rank

Please refrain from using the word "interesting"

Nothing against you I just hate that word.

Little Man being Erased 12-14-2007 01:53 AM

Seems an odd thing to hate.

Zmev 12-14-2007 02:10 AM

Its a horrible blanket word.
Please refrain from using the word "interesting"

I might upload it to the mailing list, but I'm lazy so probably not. Besides, it'll be all over the internet in a few days and if you looked for it hard enough you could get it.

Metal Urbain - Anarchy in Paris

Apparently, they are a seminal french synth/post punk band from the late 70s who have greatly influenced Steve Albini. Also the first band to release anything on Rough Trade. Anyway, they are good, but it does get a little repetitive after awhile.
