Severed Survival may be more fun, i'll give you that...but Mental Funeral is definately more sick, disgusting, gut-wrenching, evil, horrific, repugnant, vile, but most of all, beautiful, than anything Severed Survival could ever hope to be.

get their album Tormented. it's great. that's probably all i'd recommend tho, everything else is just meh.

I finally gave Blessed are the Sick another listen today and while I like it it's just nowhere near as good as Altars. Don't think I'll ever bother with Covenant.

It was pretty good, 3.5/5 I guess, but it just doesn't have the same it factor. And some of Azagthoth's guitar playing is really ****ing annoying.

Some of his leads got a little tedious and irksome after a while. They're great in small doses but there are some points where I wish he'd just slow the **** down and let the song flow.

I understand what you mean, but I don't think those parts detract that much... overall the album's just raw, amateurish goodness.

I don't listen to Morbid Angel that much but Altars is definitely better than Blessed.
