Slither - Horrible Mutilation
Totally awesome. I'm stoked for the new 7'' of theirs that I just ordered. |
What's that like?
|
Sax and clarinet duo of Michigan noise artists Cotton Museum and Sick Llama. Both wind players use an arsenal of ridiculous signal processors (lots of delay and distortion, mostly) and noisy insanity.
|
Or as the label's website puts it:
"True reed mutilation. Saxophone, Clarinet with electronics & tape loops. SLITHER is a soundtrack for the worst day of your life. Heath Moerland on Clarinet+Electronics, Chris Pottinger on Saxophone+Electronics. Recorded just after the "Cut Scales" sessions that were released last year on cassette. Imagine living in a swamp pulling small animals in, getting fat off drinking their blood. All the while thousands of leeches covered with warts and boils, are gorging themselves off your blood. They are getting fatter and growing longer, veins pulsating to the same beat as your heart because they have become apart of your flesh. You're forced to live the rest of your life in the swamp." |
that sounds really cool. all i know about woodwind distortion comes from that wah sax solo in Morphine's "All Wrong"
(it could just be a natural ligature manipulation but its just so UNCANNY that i assume it's not organic) |

We almost had an 'experimental' piece once, but they then decided we were not good enough for it and we went back to marches. |
Hell yeah, one of my favorite bands. I think you and I are the only ones around here who truly appreciate Dando and all he does. We should start a club.

Nope, I have much love for the Lemonheads. "Rudderless" is one of my favourite songs ever.
Lemonheads posse! Current members: 3 They have so many great songs but I especially love "The Outdoor Type" at the moment. Neil Young - On the Beach I really should listen to more Neil Young than I do. |
i like that song Luka
i only have a couple songs by them |
"It's a Shame about Ray"
And yeah that song is good. Check out the album of the same name. |
i changed it to Luka cuz i went into itunes and listened to em, and Luka's the one i was thinking about. but i will check it out anyways
edit ooooo and i like their cover of Mrs. Robinson. i bet you anything that's how i originally found them, and then i downloaded a few other random songs because i liked the style. i would give that about a 40% probability. |
