Get Leitmotif too, it's really underrated, and the great thing about Dredg is all their CDs can be found at CD shops for like $10 or less brand new.
Great.

What genre would you describe them as? I can't put my finger on it at all.

Leper 09-07-2005 01:43 AM

Good lord I love HMV. I added to my PF collection once again puchasing Atom Heart Mother, and Saucerfull of Secrets.

TheDMV 09-07-2005 04:12 AM
High school.

For some reason I didn't think I was going to be nervous at this point, but I feel like I'm going to spill my guts right now :-\
I took me forever to fall asleep the night before, but it improved quickly.

Lord Abortion 09-07-2005 04:49 AM
Just because some people choose to follow it because it's trendy doesn't mean that left wing politics are crap. Those people are just retarded. Simple.
Agreed, sorry If I was coming over as a dick last night.

I was just tired and pissed off.
That's one of the reasons I dislike pop-punk too.
Screw it, of course it doesn't matter if I don't follow a band's political beliefs, I'm a Burzum fan, so I'd be a hypocrite if I held that belief.

For a guy who was completely illiterate in music theory up until a month ago, I think I deserve a little slack.
My gear, mine and my dad's (a lot of it is my dad's, and I've appropriated all of it :D )

GUITARS:

Ibanez JS100 Satriani signature
Fender American Standard Stratocaster
Fender Mexican Telecaster
Fender Stratocaster XII (12-string Strat, made only in the year 1986 in Japan. Vintage!)
Ovation 12-string acoustic-electric
Hagstrom hollowbody electric (piece of ****)
Takemine acoustic-electric
Guild dreadnought acoustic
Spanish classical guitar
Taylor backpacker acoustic

AMPS:

Fender Deluxe 90
Kustom 200-watt bass amp: great guitar amp too
Ampeg tube amp (a '50s surf-guitar type amp, vintage from the '60s)
Pignose portable amp

AMP SIMULATORS:

POD Version 2.0

EFFECTS PEDALS:

DOD Supra Distortion (my main gain boost)
Vox Wah
Digitech Stereo Chorus/Flanger pedal (two in one)
MXR flanger (for the Van Halen phased sound :))
BOSS Mega Distortion
BOSS Digital Delay
Danelectro Grilled Cheese distortion ;)
Danelectro Pastrami overdrive ;)

And a BOSS drum machine, a crappy old Tascam 4-track recorder, and my wonderful Garageband program, along with assorted cables of varying quality.
Jesus. Is it possible to have rig-envy?

All I've got is my Steinberger GU Deluxe, Hughes & Kettner 30R Edition Blue, Dunlop Crybaby, and a cheap Aria octave pedal. I really want a Steinberger GR and some DigiTech effects along with an Ibanez Weeping Demon. But that's not gonna happen in the near future.

First I have to rape my savings on editing software and a Gateway notebook.

Lord Abortion 09-07-2005 05:03 AM

Wow, I understood none of Cain's post, but from the reaction of others, I deem that it must be good.

RCA 09-07-2005 09:10 AM

/me goes to steal Lucas' gear

The American Strat and the Strat XII are going first. :D

Arucard 09-07-2005 09:33 AM

I don't have that much kit, not even nearly. I've got a :

Schecter C-1 with Seymour Duncans
Fender Strat from Mexico
Ibanez AXS32
Yamaha Acoustic (unsure of model, cost about £230)

Amps wise

Line 6 Spider 212
Marshal TSL 100 with 70's reissue Cab. (I don't use this, and want to sell it, the sound is to retro).

Arucard 09-07-2005 10:30 AM

I only have so many guitars because i have got better ones each time. My Schecter is pure greatness, i would never play anything else now, but im scared i'll break it, i play really hard too much of the time :\

Cain 09-07-2005 10:51 AM
I have one electric guitar and one amp. Is that unusual?

That said, my main passion is classical guitar so I concentrate on playing my cheap but wonderful Alvaro.
You should post some recordings. I'd love to hear more quality fingerpicking on the boards.

Alternative Progressive. That's what's thrown around most often, and I like it.

Yeah, that's fits right imo.

NP: Anthrax - Keep it in the Family

^ Coolest. Solo. Ever. [I know I'm the only one who thinks that :(]

Yes, that solo is wicked awesome. My favorite though, would have to be the one in "Hell Bent For Leather". Short, but catchy as hell. :D

MBS 09-07-2005 11:23 AM

Jesus, Cain, that's a lot of stuff.

Sophmore year's tomorrow. I don't know where my classes are, I forgot to look during registration and my map of the school is in my locker.

Fuck. :(

That song is pure awesome because it's so ridiculously catchy. It's pure Priest.

I think Persistence of Time might just be my favorite album, period.

I know how you feel man, but I think I have it worse. I've barely been on campus, I don't know where any of my classes are, I have to wait in a huge line to get my final schedule, and I have to convince one of the counselors to replace my first period Theater with Biology.

Lord Abortion 09-07-2005 11:27 AM

Filthy Hippies took over the backroom of the Club where my band practice, for them to practice, even though they suck.
So, no practice for us tonight...well they did book...

Long live Priest! :D

Persistence Of Time is my second favorite Anthrax album, as State Of Euphoria is my first. "You're anti! You're antisocial!"

I had P.E 2nd and 3rd period on my old schedule. I had to drop one and take World History though. :(

Among the living is my favourite

They were excellent at Download, I sang Anti-social for weeks afterward :p

evilmenhavenosongs 09-07-2005 11:33 AM

I hate school.

I've been there one day and had no lessons and the place already makes me want to throw up.

*sigh*

And I've started lurking more and posting less, ugh.

long live Priest \m/

Meh, SOE had too much filler, and I didn't like the production style that much. Persistence of Time has perfect everything; great riffs, awesome production, Belladonna's best vocals, great drums (excellent fills), great bass, and Anthrax's best solos. Every song is just awesome.

I'd do that. I mean, I be really exhausted after two period of PE in a row. I also really like History too.

Well I kind of had to, you have to take World History as a Sophmore.

I had basketball and band.

I didn't even sign up for band

Kurtz 09-07-2005 11:42 AM
I didn't even sign up for band
Well, is Los Al one of those schools where you have to be in either choir or chorus? Because of friend of mine who goes to Oxford has to take band, even though he didn't sign up for it.

Arucard 09-07-2005 11:44 AM

After many listens, Borknagar : Epic is my faverouite album at the minute. Also, who uploaded a Dissilusion song ages ago? I was listening to it yesterday and its insane.

Lord Abortion 09-07-2005 11:50 AM

My favourite album of the moment is Dungeon- A rise to power

RCA 09-07-2005 11:56 AM

I've taken a strong liking to Carnage - Dark Recollections. Old-school death holocaust!

Illmatic 09-07-2005 12:14 PM

My favorite album at the moment is Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters (jazz! c-c-c-c-c-c-combo breaker!) but it's still not my all-time favorite album.

superpeer 09-07-2005 12:24 PM

Anyone here like the Dresden dolls? They're rather cool.

IAJP 09-07-2005 01:07 PM

I'm enraged, confused and sexy. Someone tell me why Jelle's Audioscrobbler has a top artists and songs playlist and Mine doesn't?
