You know you can do all that stuff just fine on a PC right? The only thing I've noticed that mac's have on PC's is better sound editing programs. I used one on a mac called Sound Edit (I think) and it was really good. It had multiple layers of audio, as well as the left and right channel for each layer, which was a huge advantage, and something that I can't understand why Sound Forge doesn't have. But I've used Adobe Premeire and Adobe After Effects on both Mac and PC for video editing and found on PC it was so much easier. Same goes for Vegas Video (which is also actually pretty good for sound editing). And Acid works just fine with a PC as well.

I don't know, I've heard MANY industry professionals profess how much greater Macs are, especially for music recording. I also know several die-hard PC fans who say that Macs are only good for music recording.

Like I said...I think it has better audio recording programs. But saying it's better for video is purely subjective. And since I do more video stuff then audio, I don't need the types of tools the mac has to offer in the audio side of things.

I do more with audio than video.

And macs have less of those stupid help wizards and such that PCs do so a 3-year-old could figure it out. You don't have as many cases where you have to keep one program to use another, and so on, etc.

If you want one, get one. I don't know about all these problems you have a pc though. I've never run into a ton of stupid help wizards nad having to keep one program to use another. But like I said, I don't do much audio work. If you're just buying it to use Acid...don't. That program is the exact same for macs and pc's. Or at least it was 2 years ago last time I used it. If you want to get a mac, the sound program I suggest is Sound Edit (I'm pretty sure that's the name.). It's one of only 3 I've used for a mac, but it was by far the superior.

I think I'm just uber-gullible when it comes to commericals...which is why I don't watch much TV ^-^

And my friend who has both, but loves his mac if only because he records on it. Garage Band is one o' his favorite programs.
