Being sick sucks. Just thought I'd say that.

My nose is plugged to hell, my throat is dry, last night I was freezing to death, I went to the bathroom about 5 times in the middle of the night, I'm all warm.

Being sick sucks. Fortunately, I almost never get sick. I get colds once in a while, but I almost never get really sick. It's been like 3 years or more since I last threw up actually.

So the White Album pwns.

Glitterati 09-05-2005 03:03 PM

I just bought some CDs.

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Bob Dylan - Blonde On Blonde

:-D

Two essentials. I like Blonde On Blonde better, but they are both amazing. Both kind of overrated, but still great.

How you've gotten this far without those albums :p

Sgt. Peppers is incredible. Every song on there is awesome.

ATM 09-05-2005 03:16 PM

Some guy in the Pit listed that as one of the albums he is embarssed to own.

Not the best album for either one of those artists

Yea, I've just stopped posting.

I agree. For Dylan it's got to be Blood On The Tracks, and for the Beatles I go back and forth between Abbey Road and The White Album. I think Abbey Road is better, but The White Album is my favorite if that makes any sense.

np- Cry Baby Cry

Badmoon 09-05-2005 03:38 PM

Dylan - Bringing it All Back Home
The Beatles - Revolver

IMO

Ha, I actually agree with both of those (even though I think Abbey Road > Revolver > Rubber Soul > White Album)

Broken Arrow 09-05-2005 03:45 PM

I'd agree for "Abbey Road" but I'd say thats Dylan's best is "Blonde on Blonde".

Illmatic 09-05-2005 03:52 PM

Blonde On Blonde has a few great songs ("4th Time Around", "Visions of Johanna", "Stuck Inside of Mobile...", "One Of Us Must Know...") but it also has his most annoying song ("Rainy Day Women"), so i dunno

NP: Stevie Wonder - Superstitious

Meh I like Rainy Day Woman 12 & 35. It's a fun song to listen to, nothing more. The only part I find annoying about it is that Dylan n00bs think of it as one of his best songs, which it isn't even close to being. Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat is another great one from that album.

Broken Arrow 09-05-2005 03:55 PM

Yeah, I'd say "Visions of Johanna" is my favourite Dylan song so that may have something to do with it.

That's my friends favorite Dylan song. Great song. We're the only really big Dylan fans in the school

Rolling Stone had Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club as their #1 album of all time.

But then again it's Rolling Stone and lots of people strongly disagree with that magazine...

Their lists suck IMO, but it's impossible to please everyone. It's good that they at least attempt lists.

Jean Chrétien 09-05-2005 04:13 PM

maybe, but what about "gimme shelter" thats an oldy but a goody

rolling stone is not always my favorite magazing :( that would be savoy :upset:

Spot on with Dylan, although I don't think The White Album is The Beatles's best work...I'd place Rubber Soul, Abbey Road and Revolver all above it for sure, and depending on my mood, Magical Mystery Tour as well. Still a great album, but the criticisms of it going on for too long are justified in my opinion.
I have a different favorite Beatles album everyday. I can't forget about Rubber Soul, that album got me into the Beatles, first cd I bought that I still listen to these days.

Jam2Me 09-05-2005 04:45 PM
99.1? The CT one is alraight, but they usually just play AC/DC or the very best known of the CR songs. We are lucky to have a really good independent radio station that plays world/cr/alt/indie/blues/pretty much anything
What stations is the independent one you speak of?

And yeah 99.1 is pretty plain...if it's not on a great hits compilation it's probably not played. 104.1 was such a good station before it mutated into a terrible rap station *tear*

I'd say MMT is definitely better than the White Album. Same with Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, and Revolver. I find the White Album just has too much filler.

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 05:06 PM
The White Album is my least favourite Beatles album. In fact, I hate double albums on principle.
Why's that? The Wall is a great double album, in my opinion.

Jam2Me 09-05-2005 05:10 PM

All Things Must Pass is one of my best double-albums.
I could list a ton of live double albums, but I won't.

JonG 09-05-2005 05:15 PM
All Things Must Pass is one of my best double-albums.

++

Fantastic double album. Also Europe '72 and tons of Zappa albums.

White Album and The Wall abuse fillers IMO. I don't like the little 1-2 minute songs on The Wall, and all of the ones on The White Album don't appeal to me.

angusmaster 09-05-2005 05:27 PM
At least neither of them are Guns N' Roses... 160 minute double CD albums.
Thats true .

Distant Echoes 09-05-2005 05:41 PM

I said it before and Ill say it again...the wall just doesnt cut it for me. It lacks the Pink Floyd style like their other 70s material and is too choppy between songs, also unlike them. Dont get me wrong, i like the album, but I expected more.

Can anybody send me or upload all things must pass? I want it so much but cant find it anywhere.

Fav double album = Quadrophenia

angusmaster 09-05-2005 05:56 PM

Isnt the wall the album money is on , its probably my favorite pink floyd song.

Another question , how do you get a custom avatar?

magicbus 09-05-2005 05:58 PM

Money's on Dark Side of the Moon.

You can upload a picture from your computer or link one from another page. You did it in the "Edit Avatar" section of your User CP.

EDIT: You can usually ask somebody who knows how to do it to make you one.

angusmaster 09-05-2005 06:01 PM

None of my pics are the right size and i dont know where to find one.

DeusExMachina 09-05-2005 06:35 PM

Upload the pic on www.tinypic.com and people will be happy to make it work for you, I'm sure.

I second the request for an upload of All Things Must Pass.
None of my pics are the right size and i dont know where to find one.
Do a google search for images you want, and then go to a paint program or something like that, and resize it. I'd offer to do it for you, but I suck at it. That's why I change it all the time. This one's one of my best, but it's still blurry. The size needs to be bigger.

Badmoon 09-05-2005 06:49 PM

Resizing pictures with Paint sucks; you need photoshop.
