I think he understood alright, I haven't spoke to him yet, as the guitarist told him, but he says he took it alright.
I think he knew he was out.
I got kicked out of a band once. It was in high school, and it was because all I ever wanted to play was the Rush songs with long guitar solos. It was a thoroughly Jack Black moment for me. :)

Shadows 11-12-2005 11:58 AM
What was your score, Jelle? Bowling is fun, but I suck at it. The highest I've ever gotten was a 185. I got 5 straight strikes. It owned pretty hard.
I suck at bowling so much. :( Me best score was around your's, but that was a major fluke. I usually don't break 100.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-12-2005 11:58 AM

So I just learnt Strip the Soul by Porcupine Tree. I love the long, it's just so dark, even when compared to typical Porcupine Tree. :p It's a fun song to play. I like how the song changes modes so often.

Jelle- How much is it to bowl? It's like 3 bucks a game here, I think, which is rather inexpensive fun.

Lucas- I love that movie.

Haha, I would have had you in my band if you wanted to play Rush songs...much better than Metallica fanboy guitarists:p

Bartender 11-12-2005 12:09 PM

I used to go bowling every week, with my dad and my sister and a guy called Steve. Haven't been in years now, though.

Cain 11-12-2005 12:17 PM
Haha, I would have had you in my band if you wanted to play Rush songs...much better than Metallica fanboy guitarists:p
Yeah, the rest of the band were classic rock Zepheads and Skynyrd-whores, and a heavy metal drummer, which would have been cool except for the fact that at the time I hated metal.

Jom 11-12-2005 12:19 PM

My high school had a bowling club. I did it for two years, and it was awesome. Five bucks a week for three games and free shoe rental, pizza, and pop. Teams of three.

Man, it was excellent. I had so much fun. Competition was pretty intense because not a lot of people participated, and I knew everyone in the club. Trash-talking was to the max. My high game was 263, and I highly doubt that I'll ever break that because I haven't gone bowling in awhile (unless I go once a week as I did before in high school, but that's unlikely). I remember that the prizes at the end were $5 gift certificates to National Coney Island.

But it didn't matter, because it was an awesome thing to do on Wednesdays.

Whats the score for a perfect game again ?

Shattered_Future 11-12-2005 12:21 PM

300.

I actually signed up for the bowling team this year...I'm gonna have to drop out. Interferes too much with my two jazz bands.

I did it one year in 7th grade though...I was a horrible bowler. My highest score was 122. :upset:

Jom 11-12-2005 12:27 PM

Well, the important thing is that you have fun.

My team had our own uniforms. I forget the name exactly, but I think it had something either to do with being patriotic or the Detroit Pistons, because my friends were red and white, and I was blue. We had headbands, wristbands, soccer socks rolled up all the way to the knees... we took our bowling game seriously, but not our uniform. It was sooooooooooo much fun, good Lord.

The teacher running the club was so laid back. He was also the varsity coach, and he was always like, "You guys should have tried out for the varsity team." He also taught the stupidest math courses, so he was always burnt out at the end of the day.

But come on. Who wants "bowling" on his varsity jacket? Sure, it's a step up from "Concert Band, Symphony Band, Marching Band, NHS," like some people had, but let's be real for a moment.
Heh, well you live there while I just visit a couple times a year.

Anyway, I just went shopping and bought:
Organ Classics From King's-£3.99
Miles Davis-The Collection. It contains:Sketches of Spain, Kind Of Blue and In A Silent Way-£14.99
Also, two books by Edgar Allan Poe:
Spirits Of The Dead:Tales and Poems-£1.50
Selected Tales-£1.99

All in all a good shop, made possible by the power of EMA.

Well, if you ever need advice, you know where I live. Wait, no you don't. :o

Good call on the Poe books! Great stuff.
I suck at bowling so much. Me best score was around your's, but that was a major fluke. I usually don't break 100.
Yeah, it doesn't happen much that I go over 100. Sometimes though.

Good song.
Jelle- How much is it to bowl? It's like 3 bucks a game here, I think, which is rather inexpensive fun.
Well, since it's weekend, it was more expensive. So €3.75 per game, I think €1 for the shoes and then a drink. So it easily adds up to quite a bit of money. I'm poor.

Jom: That's awesome, you own me at bowling, remind me to never go bowl with you.

Cain 11-12-2005 12:33 PM

You know what's a badass, non-sports way to have team fun? Laser tag.

I always feel like a commando. My team guards our base while I go on solo excursions and rape everyone else's base. I got the third highest score out of twenty players by doing that. It was amazing fun.

superpeer 11-12-2005 12:37 PM

Yeah, it was terrible :-\

magicbus could back me up on it, I'm sure.

This was the funniest varsity jacket, from my memory:

Symphony Orchestra
Symphony Band
Marching Band
Color Guard
NHS

I mean, if you're far away, you think, "Wow, that girl's really athletic and busy after school... wait, orch, band, band, color guard... NHS?! Nerd!"

I mean, I was in NHS, but there's no way in Hell I'm putting that on my sports jacket.

It's funnier to play when you don't relaly mind being the best. I'm not good at football (soccer yes I know what we're talking about lol), but I enjoy playing it because I'm really bad and we get a laugh out of me sweeping... in concrete floors.
