cool

robo2448 05-11-2005 07:35 PM

I just listened to a couple of songs off Me and Mr. Johnson. I don't know about the rest of you, but a lot of people seem to hate this CD, or at least feel it's not very good. I only listened to a couple of songs, but really liked what I heard and plan on buying it. Anyone else like it?

pigonthewing82 05-11-2005 07:37 PM

Cheak this out I might be going to see the Stones this summer :)

jpj 05-11-2005 07:39 PM

They're coming to PNC Park, but tickets are probably outrageous and there are other shows I'd rather see (and the tickets will be a lot less).

Yeah I don't know too much about it, they are coming on my dads birthday or somthing so he wants to go. It would be pretty cool though, even though I won't be too upset if I miss them.

I heard the tickets were $99 and those were the cheap seats. I also heard front-row was $400

Not sure if my source is trustworthy

I've heard they still put on a great show even though they are old and at least Richards should already be dead. How he is still alive defies the laws of science.

But science sucks.
If you want good/less seen Grateful Dead shirts, go to their site or Liquid Blue.
This is also a great site:

Nice avatar :thumb:

Get Backwaters and Manzanita :thumb:, if you haven't already.

I'd send them to you, but it would be quite hard.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 05-11-2005 08:24 PM

This is the first time that YSI has worked for me!.......only it says it'll take over an hour to load.:upset: I guess I'll have to try another time. I'm really interested in Johnny Winter though; I've been getting into more blues lately. What should my first Jeff Beck album be?

NP: I Want You (She's So Heavy)-The Beatles:D

Badmoon 05-11-2005 08:33 PM

My friend let me burn Chicago Transit Authority. Fantastic album; there's at least four songs that I am highly fond of on it. Plus, it features Terry Kath.

I was thinking of getting Manzanita next. All I have now is The Bluegrass Guitar Collection.

Thanks for the suggestions. :thumb:

Badmoon 05-11-2005 08:45 PM

Yeah, Manzanita is much more of a Bluegrass album, compared to Backwaters (Which some say is his masterpiece), which is Jazz/Bluegrass. Both are extraordinary.

Plus, Manzanita has "Blackberry Blossom". Such a great song; it's the character that each instrument's line has that makes it fantastic.

How's it goin fellow Classic Rock faithfull?

NP: Eric Clapton - Cocaine

my entire family is going to see the stones. in fact, im coming back from college for it.

magicbus 05-11-2005 09:43 PM

I played Layla Unplugged and Wish You Were Here in the talent show, it was good. Great even.
haha. you would go so far as to say great?
Yea man, I wasn't nervous at all, and I got to solo and show the whole school that I can play guitar.

I'm uploading the videos and putting the links in the community thread.

BludgeonySteve 05-11-2005 10:28 PM

My school talent show only lets you have 3 minutes. I'm thinking communication breakdown or something quick like that :/. Maybe a Beatles song.

something like purple haze, i feel free, good times bad times, same in the end, immigrant song, wrong way

what instrument do you play and what kind of genre does your band,or you(i dunno) want to play?

Spectrum 05-11-2005 11:34 PM

"I Feel Free" would be a good winner because it's short, fast, and so much fun to listen to. Fun and energetic songs have a tendency to sway support in your favor, particularly if done with skill and talent. I personally would probably choose that one.

Spectrum 05-11-2005 11:35 PM

Unless you wanted to go non-Classic Rock, in which case I might advise you towards Radiohead's "How Do You?" Strangely short, but what is there is hard and fun. Of course, it all depends on what your band wants to sound like.

Leper 05-11-2005 11:46 PM

it doesn't necessarily have to be hard, but i guess a hard song would would gain more attention in such a short amount of time.

NP: The Beatles-Come Together

Spectrum 05-11-2005 11:57 PM

^A good suggestion, in my book.
