Ah, Canada.. we have our HMV's and our Music Worlds, which have about the same amount of good music as Wal-Mart.
I live in Montreal and the HMV and Music World I go to as good variety of bands I guess. Well, in the metal department. Theres this store called Archambault, they sell books dvd's cd's, theres also an instrument corner. They sell lots of cd's their too and lots of band dvd's but they overprice their stuff. But nothing beats The Virgin Mega Store, when I go on vacation. |
whoa, racist :(
(just kidding, I usually wear semi-baggy jeans but what can a guy do) as for CDs, I usually just go to local places, not for moral reasons (although I used to work for one so I feel kinda obligated) but because they have more used CDs, which are always cheaper. I do usually sometimes go to Best Buy, even though most of the time there's so much stuff going on in there that I get all confused and such. I dunno.
Same, semi baggy pants is where it's at. Not jeans though. I hardly ever wear jeans. It used to be all I wore, but it made me look even skinnier. Same of the cd's as well, pretty much. Local stores and used CD stores are great. We're like brothaz! |
Jeans are all I waer in winter
I usually shop at JB Hi-Fi, which is an australian chain music/home theatre/movie chain. They actually have an excellent selection of metal, and order anything in for you. |
The nearest JB to me is about 30 mins away, I've only been there once, but it had tons of stuff that I wouldn't have expected to see. Cool place.
Oh and Cash Converters has plenty of cds from $1, I've bought 2 random cds there simply because it's so cheap. It's like musical gambling. So far, 1 winner and 1 loser. |
I do that as well, usually classical stuff for €1. Although I've bought a Cathedral album for €1 and and Emperor one for €3.

This is one of the $1 random buys http://www.comcen.com.au/~caracarol/Noggi.jpg
Swiss folk/rock'n'roll anyone? No thanks, Noggi. The other one was Rumors Of The Big Wave - Burning Times, simply because the cover looked a bit like another cd I have. It's a bit cheesy at times, but generally good early 90's pop-rock, and one absolutely awsome pagan song. |

Cd's are something i will never buy second hand. I dunno, there something that I want new and never opened. |
I really like smelling the cd case when I open it, anyone else do this?

Slight delay, but I got it up. The big Three-Oh. It's short, but sweet. |
So, I'm pimping out an Irishman, good times.

Cricket or rugby? I tried looking at the rules for the former, but it was all Greek to me. I guess it's just an English thing? |
Football.
Yeah, cricket is something you have to work out... |

you really should, smell the cd, smell the booklet. it just has this certain scent, I can't explain it. it smells new, and untouched, and I really don't know, but it feels good :) np: Winds - Silence In Despair |
So... I chucked the bassist out of our band.
He got a new job where he would be working on the days we practice, so I told him he was out. |
I really like smelling the cd case when I open it, anyone else do this?
I love doing this to tennis ball canisters. As soon as that aluminum tab pops, ohhhhhh man, it smells soooooo good. Unfortunately, the smell goes away almost instantly :(
So... I chucked the bassist out of our band.
Was he heavy? |

P.S. enjoy your bowling
Ah yeah, Media Markt. Good store, by far the best of the big commercial stores. I know about 10 more stores in Antwerp though. :p PS: I really sucked at bowling, at least I threw a couple of strikes, I guess. :upset:
If you think that's weird, my brother likes to stick his tongue on the hole in the middle of the disc when he opens it.
The only logical explanation would be 'The Bloodhound Gang - Hooray for Boobies'. People who own the cd will know what I mean. |
What was your score, Jelle? Bowling is fun, but I suck at it. The highest I've ever gotten was a 185. I got 5 straight strikes. It owned pretty hard.

I always read along with the song and I get a chance to "smell" it. But strangly enough, it does feel good :p . |

I dunno, it was something really pathetic, I didn't even get 100. I only bowl three times a year anyway. It's quite expensive. I play very inconsistently, one time I'll throw strikes and spares, sometimes gutterballs all over the place. NP: The Coral - Dreaming of You This song rocks. |
Ollie: who played bass for you? Slim?
Yeah, he said he wouldn't be able to come to practices on the days we practice, so, if he's not committed he's out of the band.
How did he take it? That seems a fairly unilateral action. Was he upset at all?
I think he understood alright, I haven't spoke to him yet, as the guitarist told him, but he says he took it alright. I think he knew he was out. |
