I promise. the rest is up to you, stormtrooper Jimmy.

I will. I've been in the library for weeks. It's one of the seven deadly sins.

Listening now: Explosions in the Sky – Welcome, Ghosts
I didn't know you were into that stuff |
I'm into a lot of different things. I reset last.fm and from that point on generally only scrobbled things I listened to on my computer, which would be that noisy hardcore ****. I listen to the majority of other stuff on my iPod. But now I'm in the library, and I've selected a group of music more appropriate for late night studying to listen to, as I haven't slept much recently and there is more to life than noise. I'm primarily into hardcore punk, but I got to Georgetown University and haven't found anyone else around these parts who is as well. Therefore, I spend the majority of my time with people who listen to other forms of music, and as a musician, I'm forced to play other forms of music as well (that is, if I decide to concede and play along to the tune of a different ear if only for the sake of having something to play). Ghastly City Sleep's first LP is by far my favorite of that genre, even if it doesn't fit in too snuggly. I'm also a huge fan of Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, The National, Joy Division, Stan Getz & João Gilberto, Interpol, The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, Built to Spill, Mos Def, and Radiohead. Among others. The vast array of human emotion is meant to be felt, and cannot solely be expressed as an outlet of aggression. You must also account for the art of happiness and fatigue, loneliness, sadness, and kindness. Plus, punk disallows for the pursuit of certain tonal arrangements that are more suited to the piano of Thelonious Monk or the guitar of Bradford Cox. I can dig whatever.

I like that emo stuff but right now I'm jamming N.W.A's "**** Tha Police"

Miles Davis - So What
He gets it. |
I agree. Where You Are, Where You Want to Be is much better, in my opinion. Sirens never quite did it for me. I feel like they didn't quite have the same edge on Sirens.
I'll check that out. Sirens has awesome album art. :( If this is as boring, then I'm just gonna throw on Taking Back Sunday. |
join me and throw on Public Enemy instead.
the monkey on the back makes the best excel the people in the crowd makes the rock well the people in the back lets you know who's whack and those who lack, the odds are stacked the one who makes the money is white not black you might not believe it but it's like that ohhhhhhhhhh yeeeeeeeeeah |
I'll check that out. Sirens has awesome album art. :(
If this is as boring, then I'm just gonna throw on Taking Back Sunday.
You won't be disappointed. :D The first track, sixth track, and last track are all absolutely incredible. And the rest of the album is amazing. They really know how to write a solid emo album. |
okay you suggested as cities burn yet you are hating on sirens, seriously sirens rules and its way better than that terrible first album

hope it's as good as the rest of their stuff |
it's fantastic. finally some emo this year.
|
Orchid is my favorite band ever.
I love me some old school screamo and emo. |
Orchid is amazing ya. There's a lot of us here who would call them our favorite.
okay you suggested as cities burn yet you are hating on sirens, seriously sirens rules and its way better than that terrible first album
Son I Loved You At Your Darkest is A LOT more interesting to me than Sirens, sorry. Much better vocals, drumming, guitar playing, and lyrical content. I know they're a Christian band and scene, omg, horrible. And I don't get how saying something didn't grab my attention is, "hating," on it. |
increase the peace
|
Word.
Don't think there's a real big deal in reccing a friend something you think they'd like, and not liking something someone else recced. :/ But ya, Eucalypt is awesome! |
Sirens is awesome, one of my favourite emo albums. Where You Want To Be is pretty boring up until For Meg
|
Man, I just now realized my Noisy Sins Of The Insect discography isn't on my laptop anymore. ****ing depressing. Need to get that again.
