Track is Citronella, and he samples Smelly Tongues. He samples the Snakefinger version, though, not the one from Meet The Residents.

And the Track with John Darnielle is Coffee.

Been starting to get into some post-rock so this evening I've been listening to:
Slint-Spiderland
Explosions in the Sky-The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place
Also thinking of downloading some Comets on Fire and Mogwai eventually, any albums from them or other good post rock that you guys recommend?
Docter D, you going to Langerado?
Yes. If I missed it, I don't know what I'd do.

Comets on Fire aren't post rock.

They're pain.

Listen to Blue Cathedral.

HAVE U EVEN HEARD "DOGWOOD RUST" AND "THE SWALLOW'S EYE"?!?!?! WTFFFFFFF

Plus Blue Cathedral is more jam based while Avatar is more song based so you can't really compare. The Burning Star Core split almost destroys Blue Cathedral though, but that's because it destroys the very universe itself.

Little Man being Erased 12-07-2007 07:40 PM

Neil Young - Harvest
Battles - Mirrored
The Ergs! - Dorkrockcorkrod
Jawbreaker - 24 Hour Revenge Therapy
The Arctic Monkeys - Your Favourite Worst Nightmare

In other news, last night I spent 4 hours at Sydney airport waiting for my delayed flight. Needless to say I was slightly drunk by the time I finally got on a plane.

Anus Invader 12-07-2007 07:41 PM

i watched England play Portugal in last year's World Cup from an airport bar

they had really bad cheeseburgers. i was totally unsatisfied

br3ad_man 12-07-2007 09:09 PM
Tenniscoats. Very spritely stuff, I guess. I like it. But I'm a huge pussy.
I saw them earlier in the year. The singer was cute and the guitar dude kicked ***.

i dunno dude avatar's not bad or anything, but i don't think they pull off the more proggy stuff well. kind of bland but there are some good moments

cbmartinez 12-07-2007 09:43 PM

Downloaded a bunch of albums I knew I should have:

Thom Yorke- The Eraser
Death From Above 1979- You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
Air- Talkie Walkie and Moon Safari

All of them are fantastic, I'm loving The Eraser particularly. I also downloaded Architecture In Helsinki's In Case We Die again, I forgot how much I loved this album.

Montana 12-07-2007 10:01 PM

The Lights - Diamonds and Dirt
The Langley School's Music Project

br3ad_man 12-07-2007 10:24 PM

Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
Tom Waits - Bone Machine
Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light

JEW is better than I was expecting.

cbmartinez 12-07-2007 10:28 PM

Listening to "Clap Hands" right now, so good

Thanks 12-07-2007 11:52 PM

Miles Davis & Gil Evans - Porgy and Bess

My favorite of their collaborations. Totally amazing.

Anus Invader 12-08-2007 12:03 AM

les savy fav - let's stay friends
xbxrx - sixth in sixes
christmas with the rat pack
brian eno - ambient 1: music for airports (when i'm studying)

Jacaranda 12-08-2007 12:13 AM

Mark Ronson - Version

its pretty good minus the shitty bands that sing on here.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-08-2007 02:04 AM

Air - Talkie Walkie

Anus Invader 12-08-2007 03:05 AM

oh man forgot to add

tubeway army - replicas

resurgence of this

AlienEater 12-08-2007 06:01 AM

Gasp - An Earwigs Guide to Travelling
Boards of Canada - Campfire Headphase
Fennesz - Endless Summer
Boredoms - Super Ae

Gasp are weird. They combine krautrock, ambient, sludge and powerviolence. most of that compilation is powerviolence, which I can't say I like very much. unless it's the really lo-fi stuff, where you can't tell what the **** is going on. Unfortunately, there's only two songs of that, and one of them is like 4 seconds long
Listening to "Clap Hands" right now, so good
Yeah, amazing song. "Dirt in the Ground" is really doing it for me at the moment.

Little Man being Erased 12-08-2007 09:17 AM

I've just been listening to a bunch of mixed stuff with some mates over. Good stuff though. Johnny Cash, Klaxons, Ryan Adams, Jesse Malin, The Shins, Pixies, Phoenix. Lots of reminiscing about festivals has been happening.

BringHomeTheBacon 12-08-2007 11:37 AM

JR Ewing - Ride Paranoia

Very good Refused-esque hardcore album.

Bukowski 12-08-2007 12:29 PM

Om - Conference of the Birds

I ****ing love this album. "At Giza" is especially good, and perfect for smoking a fine joint to. That bass line is heaven.

Anxious 12-08-2007 12:43 PM

Excellent album. The thing that sets Om apart from other doom bands are the vocals. They're entrancing. Especially while high.

Eliminator 12-08-2007 12:48 PM

i like sleep more. om are good thouh

boris - the thing which solomon overlooked

Bukowski 12-08-2007 12:54 PM
Excellent album. The thing that sets Om apart from other doom bands are the vocals. They're entrancing. Especially while high.
Yeah, definitely. They're probably the only doom band that I could just put on and like regardless of how I'm feeling. I mean, I like stuff like Electric Wizard and they have some incredible guitar riffs, but sometimes the vocals can be a little off-putting for me. I need to be in the mood for that to enjoy it. Om I can just stick on and enjoy at any time. Great band.

Eliminator 12-08-2007 01:24 PM

im listening to conference of the birds now
so much better than variations

Thanks 12-08-2007 01:27 PM

You guys just made me download.
