My knees killed me after the first day. It was tough snow (the course was very beat down) so it hurt after awhile. I was so bad...
*awkward silence
oh yes it was NP: King Nothing- Metallica actually, I'm going to bed. Goodnight all :wave |
Man I hate how boring the city I live in is.

Try living here in Toledo sometime. :( Nothing happens here.
Man I hate how boring the city I live in is.
It has eight 7-11s, three malls, two golf courses, and huge cities on its borders. If you find it boring, just get up and go. I made my own fun there, and it always, always worked out. But that's because I'm very, very easy to please when it comes to finding fun. Be spontaneous, or just do the stereotypical hang out and play videogames. At any rate, if you don't suck, then something fun will come out of it. I would kill to have a 7-11 that's not half-an-hour away from me. |
I think it's your media player, man...
It skipped like that on my computer too. |
Yeah, but I don't like malls much. I make do with the other cities like Birmingham.
|

Hmm..crap I don't know why, the CD ain't scratched..can you still hear everything alright, or is the skipping too bad to tell? |

Very easy to please. :p The closest 7-11 to me is something like 45 minutes away. I had a massive obsession with Darth Dew slurpees when they had them, though. :p |
I don't even have a 7-11 remotely close to me. :upset:
Closest one is in Teaneck, New Jersey, which is about 20 minutes away from me. I can get friggin Twinkies closer to home. My town...well, I'm like on the very outskirts of my town, right next to another, so I get the best of both worlds. :D Unfortunately, you have to drive everywhere...which I'm not old enough to do yet. I'm going to attempt to try snowboarding this year. I should go decked out in medieval armor so I don't break anything... |
By car, I'm about 30 seconds away from the nearest 7-11. Rawk n roll, although I never go there.
|
There are no fricken' 7-11's here, what the hell. We have Hardee's instead of Carls Jr. and no Jack in The Box...
|
I'm going to attempt to try snowboarding this year. I should go decked out in medieval armor so I don't break anything...
You probably be more likely to rip your forearm off in the event that your "midieval elbow spikes" dig into the snow and impede your arm from moving while the rest of your body is still being pulled by gravity downward. Ouch! NP: Arcturus- Chaos Path (Yay 4 Vortex) |
What the hell is Carl's Jr.?
I've never even heard of that place...I'm assuming it's a fast food place. I swore I had 2 arms when I started! Mmmmm...Arcturus. :thumb: NP: Oysterhead - Oz Is Ever Floating Godawful vocals, amazing music. |
Carl's Jr. is an odd resteraunt. Their main gimmick is taking pride in how much grease and sauce they load onto their burgers. I much prefer Taco Bell when I'm going for atery-clogging nutrients*. :p

Jake, you've gotta stop talking about snowboarding, man :p. It makes me really yearn to go skiing/snowboarding. I haven't been in a year or two. Jesus, I want to go really badly now.
How lucky you are to live where you can do it regularly. :( |

I went skiing in New Zealand (Queensland, or some place like that) once and once in New Mexico. I can't remember the city in NM right now. I actually prefer skiing more. I find it more fun/relaxing. Snowboarding is awesome though, I'm just not naturally very aerodynamic, which kind of negates the idea of snowboarding, whereas skiing not so much. I'm not gay, though. |

:chug:
Thanks much Jom. Looks like my friend was right...Yes isn't that bad. :p |
I almost spontaneously bought a Yes album last weekend, but I decided to save my money for something.
Something.../thinks I can't think of what, though. Man, wtf, I'm way too stingy. :upset: Kage- It's definitely an acquired sense, the whole aerodynamic thing. :p I think skiing is more refined. Snowboarding, is quite the opposite, probably because of it being a relatively new sport. Tt attracts younger people, and younger people generally are kind of rough and abusive rather than "refined." |
I was out at the mall today. My friends and I went to hot topic first (browsing the one shirt rack, because hey, they sell a few cool shirts) I got a Dark Tranquillity one for $17. We then went to FYE, I finally actually bought Into Eternity's Buried In Oblivion ($12.99!), and I was really dissappointed by bonus editions of both In Flames' Lunar Strain and Subterranean, Dark Tranquillity's The Projector, The Mind's I, The Gallery, and the bonus edition Skydancer & Of Chaos And Eternal Night combo, AND Exposures: In Retrospect And Denial, as well as Trivium's From Ember To Inferno, plus a ton of other CD's I feel the need of actually owning, all of which I really wanted, but didn't get because I wanted money for books. Then we were off to Walden Books, I got David Eddings' Polgara The Sorceress, but I was once more trapped looking at things I wanted (I FOUND NEARLY EVERYTHING BY EDDINGS, BROOKS, SALVATORE, AND WEIS/HICKMAN!). Then it was off to Borders, I reserved a copy of The Two Swords by R.A. Salvatore, and I was once more teased by CD's I wanted (Jester Race/Black Ash Inheritence, Alive Or Just Breathing, etc.).
Luckily my birthday is coming up :). |
Mall stuff is so expensive. I also can't stand the mall atmosphere, so it's safe to say I'll never be stupid enough to pay $21 for a CD again. FYE can burn in hell. :)
|
My Hot Topic sells crap shirts.
I found a nice Run To The Hills shirt though. And a Shadows Fall shirt for 10 bucks. :D Buried In Oblivion is uberpwnage. So many freaking great riffs on that album. |
 What Shadows Fall shirt was it!?

The local FYE ranges from $12-$19 per CD normally, though there are some bonus editions for like $22, and then used stuff for like $2-$9. |
FYE is overpriced everything. I avoid that store most of the time. If I'm going to buy music, and even anime, I usually hit my local Bullmoose. Excellent store, great for "indie cred"... heh.
|
When I went I didn't see any used CDs, only brand new. The average price there was $18. I was pissed, but I went ahead and bought it anyway. With tax and everything, it was about $21. That was many years ago and I've never been back.
But since I've been told a local Borders has an amazing CD collection, I'd like to try them out. |
FYE sucks. Hot Topic does have a very good selection of band shirts, but the store as a whole is kind of dumb. :p They have cool Halo shirts as well, though.
SF- I wouldn't call their selection amazing because the last few months, they've not had a single Porcupine Tree album. I prefer Best Buy. 3-4 bucks cheaper, usually, and a lot more albums to choose from. Borders does have books as well, though. I've seen extraneous used cds at FYE, but usually nothing decent. I perused their metal section once, and the 4 used albums were a collection of Slipknot albums. Priced well, but still, you'd be lucky to find anything you actually wanted used. |
I haven't been to a Best Buy in a long time. :( Their selection is usually better than anything else around here, and cheaper as well. I should go back. I've never been to the Borders, so I'll check the palce out at least. I desperately need to find a store that carries the stuff I want. My parents are about to get me my own credit card because I shop online so much.
|
The thing I like about Best Buy is that they're just so much more consistent than anywhere else. They don't have a cd more expensive than 14.99, which just so happens to be my spending limit on cds. :)
|
Yeah, we would've gone to best by, but we had to be home by 11 because my friend who was driving is only 17 :upset:.

Ah, Canada.. we have our HMV's and our Music Worlds, which have about the same amount of good music as Wal-Mart.

Oh god, I'm listening to "Odal" by Agalloch and it's amazing.

I don't go on there much. i never got big into amazon... |
I much prefer buying things in person in shops than ordering them online. Unfortunately there's so much stuff that I've found impossible to find in the real world, so online (usually Amazon) it is.
Speaking of Amazon, most of you probably didn't notice (and those that did probably didn't care), but yesterday I said something about wondering if there'd been some freak fatal accident in the Amazon dispatch warehouse that was causing my seemingly simple order to be delayed so (six weeks and counting, so far). What I didn't say was that I sent Customer Support an email saying more or less the same thing. It was a facetious message, and I didn't really expect a reply, but on checking my inbox, I have a big, page-long email from Amazon, which is essentially one long apology. As "compensation for my problems", they said they've authorised my order for better postage than I paid for, and given me a free gift voucher. Made my day, I never knew complaining could yield such results. |
